Covering all bases takes more money and time spend than covering the most profitable base.Even if afterall the would make even more money,they are all so greedy that they will always choose the fastes way of making money.

You could hope that in the end they will cut their own throat by doing so but there are always new people who grow up with that and think its ok because they dont know better.

Thats how the Devil plays the game of life down here.

The thing is that they already spent a lot of the money. Modern Combat, Bad Company, BF:Heros, Mirrors Edge; all tests for various ideas. Some very successful. Every developer/publisher has to take a risk to a new market, like consoles, otherwise we would all be down at the arcade playing Pac-Man 7.

Also, like others mentioned, a lot of gamers moved on to console and many more are starting there. Huge numbers make the risk worth it, which I am sure by now they all know its not really a risk.

I'm not so much concerned about the graphics as far as this porting business is concerned. I'm mainly just worried about the scope of the maps; no more of this small battlefield **** please.

I refuse to play a console with a controller. This is the only thing preventing me from buying one. Give me REAL mouse and keyboard support for a PS or Xbox, and they have me sold. Until then, PC gaming all the way.

Im playing on PCs since there is PCs.I played N64 and all that on a friends house.I owned a PS1 and own a PS2Slim (after my older PS2 got broke due to an high voltage accident in my home) and I already plan to buy a PS3.

Even after playing Duke Nukem 3D Deathmatch via Link Cable on 2 PS1s/TVs (back in the days) with a friend,with a controller/gamepad,I refuse to re-learn playing shooter games with a controller/gamepad,simply because its not the same and Im too old for that. xD

Give me all games the market has to offer on a PS3 with full mouse/keyboard support (with the possibility to have my own keyconfig) and Im willing to let PC gaming go.

Not that I really want that,but that would be the only way..

We see that each generation console has more features to it and are more and more PC like, I wouldn't be surprised if the next-gen does have mouse and keyboard. Then what are you all going to do?

Heck, give them Intel chips and make the coding the same as PCs then you can buy a game and play it on whatever you want with whatever peripheral you want. Of course, I don't think that will happen for proprietary reasons.

Battlefield 3 should be PC only considering the PC audience, which is not by any means declining, deserves a PC-non console compromised title. Especially since the whole series started that way.

Consoles got bad company, don't let them in on the main battlefield titles, because that will ruin it and it will not be what it once was. They can have Bad company 3 or whatever.

Hell, if it wouldn't be for the consoles we would probably have an all-new battlefield game with at least 64 player support and aircrafts by this moment.

First they hint it may be on consoles because if they just came out and said it people would be rioting with pitchforks!

they then wait for things to calm and people to accept the fact!

Second they make a clear statement that it is the confirmed case and then go into hiding while we all claw each other to death!

Look up the most popular and highest selling game and im sure you will find "1942 " and "BF2" up their!!how can they say it doesnt make money

This is how they will repay us for making Battlefield popular( always remember it was born on PC)

Oh and i wish you consolers had a different forum because you have everything and why should you complain!I am suprized you even have a keyboard on consoles to even post on here?or do you use a PC lol

Rambo, does your moaning know no bounds? Where is DICE's clear statement?

Also, on the console thing, give it a rest, really. There is no "payment" to PC gamers. They made a game for us, we bought it and played it. Thats how we were repayed, by playing the original game. You don't have to get a console, but people that do have one, are entitled to be here as well.

The article in the OP states no sources what so ever, this is nothing more than a rumour. Remember the old .pdf that said BF3 would have 80 players, USA vs MEC, frostbite 2.0, released in 2008 and all that crap?

Maybe that rumor that BF3 would end up being a launch title for the next-nextgen consoles (especially the next xbox) aren't so far fetched after all.

project natal could be a standard feature and allow for head tracking to aim, that would overcome a lot of the bad control feel with console sticks.
