Alan Wake is Officially Dead For Good on the PC Front

R.I.P. Alan Wake on the PC, we hardly knew ye. Oh no wait, we knew you for over four years from the moment you were originally slated as a PC title to the moment development jumped the shark. A Microsoft spokesperson told Strategy Informer that there is absolutely no chance of there ever being a PC version of Alan Wake.

"Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience "Alan Wake" was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive. Both Microsoft and Remedy have long histories in PC game development. This decision was about matching this specific game to the right platform."

Consider this the final nail in Alan Wake ever appearing on the PC. Before, there was still some hope and speculation that the Xbox 360 "exclusive" would merely be a timed exclusive. Now? That's it, it is no more.

Im sorry but i own an xbox and looking at the GFX portrayed in some of the trailers i really cant see this game living up to its original potential.

Well this is disappointing, all the great graphical expectations will not be there now that we multi-platform gamers were expecting, especially on the PC. As it's not possible due to the hardware limits of the console, as I am guessing it is going to look the same as other games when it is released, not a bad thing but I was expecting something a little near the edge since we have been hearing all of these great things about the game for over 4 years now. My guess is that the developers/producers do not see a large enough income from the other platforms and had a budget cut so they had to fall back on just releasing the game for xbox360 which would help in making sure everything works as expected on the system.

MS wants some money, doesn't have any more **** games it can parade around as exclusives and thus sucks Alan Wake into the mix

pity, it did look like a decent game in some respects but nowhere near what it was hyped to be imo

What complete ****ing ********! Thye could at least have told us a better reason for why its not coming to pc. Its nit like they care about how the game should be wxperienced, they care about cash.

I also hope they start re-marketing the game a little more, even though it is only coming out on the 360 it could still do quiet well. I wish them luck and hope their next release will be available on the PC.
