$60 for Assassin's Creed II on the PC

If you've been waiting for Assassin's Creed II on the PC, be prepared to pay a premium. The PC version of the game that came out over two months ago now will be priced at $60 (USD) for the regular edition of the game. For $5 (USD) more there is the Black Edition of the game which will include bonus materials.

Also of note is the fact that the system requirements for the game have been officially released. Don't forget that Assassin's Creed II on the PC will include support for DirectX 11.

It's one thing that Activision did the $60 price point with Modern Warfare 2 on the PC. It was an extremely anticipated title that launched simultaneously across all three platforms. Assassin's Creed II, while still quite anticipated, may not have the appeal that a title such as MW2 does. It also doesn't help that the game released on consoles over two months ago now.

What are your thoughts on this?

You know for $60 you get both DLC's that have come out with consoles right? It is not a total rip.

But they're still forcing it on you, the consumer. The DLC for the consoles is optional, so why is it mandatory now on the PC? It just seems like a convenient excuse to jack up the price the extra $10 for PC gamers.

Meh, at least they are showing support for the PC gamer by giving us more for the same price, unlike Modern Warfare 2, which charged $10 for 50% less game than Modern Warfare 1. I would rather this than the alternative.

Originally the DLCs were supposed to be a part of the game so I feel like it's a rip off

Content for both of the DLC packs were initially planned to be included as part of the main game but later cut due to time constraints^[25] but the DLC will be a part of the main game in the PC verion coming in March.

I liked AC1, but I will wait on this one. I think $60 is steap for it as well.

DLC on the PC should be free, for one thing. If it's not big enough to be an expansion (so like, an entirely new campaign or something, like they used to be), it needs to be free. DLC is just an excuse for developers to nickel and dime gamers.

Second, if you're going to put out the PC version much later, it shouldn't come at a $60 price tag. Let's try maybe $40. I probably won't be getting this title.
