    AMD's 11 days of DirectX 11

AMD has released a neat interview with DICE regarding their implementation of the latest DirectX11 API. The interview is long (which is good!) and in PDF, so we can't simply copy/pasta some examples here!

Therefore be sure to download the PDF from the bottom of this post!

Like the hot chick in the first picture!

Seems like Dice are making all the right sounds for the PC fanboys and market. I hope the game is good and a lot of people buy it.

      Can't copy paste?

      (5) Can you confirm that the new techniques that you develop using DirectX 11 now
on AMD hardware will be used in multiple future titles?
We have over a long time, since the first early internal versions of DirectX 11,
been working with it and building in support into the Frostbite 2 engine to
      fully utilize it.
And yes, these techniques and support will be used for multiple game titles as
our technology foundation here at DICE going forward.

Well, DICE betrayed us (PC gamers) with BF:BC, let see if they can redeem themselves with BC2.

          Betrayed? You so funny

I don't ever reading anywhere that DICE was a PC only developer :p

Although, you could say that BF:BC2 has betrayed console players by bringing it to those filthy PC players.

Anyway, I assume you're being sarcastic Vika

            I should probably italicize it...

            Done.

Let's just hope my new, yet crummy laptop can run it ... by next year.

Dx11 on my 24" monitor is enough for me. :)

This is good news for anyone anticipating BF3.

My guess is that BF3 will be one of the real 'feature' DX11 games on either a new Frostbite engine, or a revised version of the BC2 one.

My memory isn't that great, so maybe someone can help clarify:

Bad Company 1 and 2 are both using Frostbite 1.0, correct? (I've heard GvD say that BC2 uses 'Frostbite 1.5' since they've modified it for more destruction).

I've also heard rumblings that DICE has already been hard at work on Frostbite 2.0.

Could it be that BF3 will be the big Frostbite 2.0/DirectX 11 featured game? Wow, not only would that be awesome, but it'd give me a legit excuse to do a huge PC upgrade.

Come on, DICE. Make me want to upgrade my PC for BC2. Just like how I upgraded to play BF2.

I think it would simply be stupidity not to use frostbite 2.0 for Bf3, so you could assume that.

It's hard to swallow the DirectX 10/11 upgrade pill when PC games are mostly direct ports from the xbox360, so far it's seemed like a needles gimmick for studios to release games that only support DirectX 10 - like with Stormrise, which failed miserably.

I need to see something that goes beyond tires that are more round looking before leaping onto the uprgrade bandwagon. As for physics, DICE have always rolled their own solutions instead of using off the shelf add-on's, it's one of the reasons I prefer their games over what everyone else does, it brings a unique feel to the games over all the other "canned" solutions like havok and physx.

most people will only run dx10,i know i will only be upgrading my card from for bf3 and whatever dx11 cards are cheap by then.

I think no one realy saw the reason in using dx10. But Dx11 promises much more simply by thinking of tesselation and ssaa. :)

Ssaa(super-sample Antialiasing) works on DX10, it also works on DX9. SSAO (screen space ambient occlusion) is new in DX11
