No, it shattered records because it was the most eagerly anticipated game since GTA IV.
Its a success. Its like all those Battlefield marks who claim DICE and EA is the devil then go and buy every release of the franchise.
Im happy for IW, and I hope they carry on making Warfare games.
I wonder if they've made a bigger profit from the less amount of pirated versions than the ones that didnt buy the game for PC cus of the dedicated servers?Comment

Well, 12% of sales does not equal 12% of profits. Since the price was raised, each sale of the PC version gets Activision just about twice as much profit. There is no Sony or Microsoft to pay ~$10.Originally posted by ThatEvilGuy

I agree that the people who actually advocated a boycott who then bought the game are pretty funny. Now, I did sign the petition for dedicated servers. It said nothing about a boycott, just that we want the game to have dedicated servers. Who here REALLY does not want dedicated servers?Comment

The preliminary sales aren't really that much to go buy, most of it is affected by the "hype" of the game or because it holds a CoD title.
What will be important now is if sales remain high (not this high obviously) but at a satisfying level after players have mentioned their thoughts.Comment
