Modern Warfare 2 Pre-Load Begins

If you purchased Modern Warfare 2 through Steam, you may now begin pre-loading the massive title.

If you've pre-purchased through Steam, you may begin to pre-load now and wait for the game to unlock on the 12th (?) through Steam. Retail sales of the game have either already started or will start on the 10th depending on where you shop.

Just because the required size is 12GB, does not mean the download is 12GB. The download is usually quite compressed.

Edit: Though this isn't always the case. It's still going to be a rather large preload size.

Interesting how MW2 is 12GB while MW1 was around 7GB.

Around 80% less features, but better graphics?
I think it is that big because its just a straight port while MW1 was optimized for PC.

I think it's pretty funny that they've allowed GameStop to sell the game early on all platforms, but PC gamers can't even try to start playing until the 10th at the earliest. If you try to install the game, Steam says your key is invalid.
Yet another slight against PC gamers. :shakehead:
My local Meijer and Walmart both had the game on the shelves, and since there was only one copy left at Meijer and two left at Walmart I'm guessing there are quite a few disappointed customers around my area.

Well GTA IV was 15 GB to download, it sucked because those that bought it retail got to play it earlier.

Still wish I would of bought GTAIV on Steam.
