    First DirectX 11 Benchmark Released

If you're one of the very few that are currently sporting a sexy DirectX 11 videocard in your rig, you may want to give the Uningine DirectX11 benchmark program a go.

The demo will run on DirectX 9, DirectX 10, DirectX 11, and OpenGL renderers. The "Heaven" benchmark seen above supports the following:
    • Support of DirectX 9, DirectX 10, DirectX 11 and OpenGL
    • Comprehensive use of tessellation technology
    • Advanced SSAO (screen-space ambient occlusion)
    • Volumetric cumulonimbus clouds generated by a physically accurate algorithm
    • Dynamic sky with light scattering
    • Interactive experience with fly/walk-through modes
    • Benchmark mode

A list of download mirrors and requirements can be found at the Uningine download page.

That looks pretty impressive, i especially like how for the first timr we are seeing 3d game floors without them being just a 3d texture.

Hardware Tessellation looks to be the bee's knees when it's used properly.
