That thread hit 400 pages before IW deleted it,

They deleted it, they even have the maturity level of 90% of console gamers now too.

They are in for such a shock. Screw 'em. :)

Their moderators and figurehead are all unabashed console fanboys. Almost exclusively on the X360. 402 acted like this move was some kind of favor, like some PC gamer somewhere asked for it.
Yep, now everyone gets an equal experience. Equally lame.

If I was on the dev team, I'd be pissed at this move. To work on something for roughly 2 years and want everyone to buy and experience what you created, only to have some suit decide to taint the whole thing with a turd coating? Unless they all drank the Kool-Aid and think this really is the smart thing to do...

The deleted the thread with the most feedback because "the forum mod tools are not working." Total Bs cover up.

I've also talked to Machinima.com and we're making a Petition video so alot more people will be told about this and can get involved.

Surely if enough PC COD gamers join in, they've got to rethink.

If 5,000 dont get the game now, IW have lost over $300,000.

Somehow I'm IP banned from the IW forums. That's pretty amazing considering I never even registered there.

This is probably the worst decision a company has ever made in gaming history seriously. I would really love to meet the people who make these decisions. Because I highly doubt these decisions were made by Infinity Ward. I'm starting to see this a lot lately in PC games it's either because of the recession or developers becoming flat out lazy. Because it seriously isn't making more money and if they are shame on you PC gamers.

I probably won't be buying this if it turns out like this. I made that mistake with operation flashpoint: dragon rising as seen in that game(which is a really fun game) having no dedicated server support really just kills the multiplayer experience.

edit: the first petition link'd on this thread is growing like an infection. I'm refreshing it like every 30 seconds and the number jumps up by like 200

I got banned there yesterday for pretty much no reason. This console player says something like "oh boo hoo no dedicated servers you guys demand too much buy an xbox", and I tell him that dedicated servers are in ALMOST EVERY PC FPS GAME. He thinks that we were supposed to get extra stuff but they take away instead. Console players have no idea what a dedicated server is.

And a few minutes later I'm banned. Luckily I can make a new account and I'm not IP banned.

See though, there's a difference between actually having an account there and being banned and just being randomly IP banned with no account there.

I can only assume I was caught up in some wildcard ban as it's starting to become clear that the mods there aren't exactly up on what they should actually be doing.

Maybe it was a range ban Zips.
You probably just got caught in the crossfire.

The petition is now up to 15581 after I signed it, omg...

                            That is $934,860 US!

However, I'm sure some people were not going to buy it either way, or because of the raised price, but most of this chunk are probably b/c of the dedicated servers, ridiciulous. Almost a million dollars gone b/c of a stupid decision.

Oh, and 402 wouldn't not get in trouble, in fact, the devs would love him for taking the bullet of the hated PC crowd. We read that interview about a week ago that said IW wanted to focus on consoles and develop for them. This is what they wanted, and apparently, this is what they'll get. It honestly does not take that long to make a dedicated server... Hopefully they'll humble themselves after the explosion of this news, or otherwise their pride will be their fall.

Im mostly a console gamer, but I was contemplating getting the PC version for MODs and dedicated servers. I feel the pain, and I really can't think of a PC FPS without Dedicated Servers.

Like I said before, so many of them are just kids screaming for chocolate milk. Shame really, as it puts a stereotype on the few that are actually normal.

                                Edit: 17,020 = Approximately £680,800 / $1,113,328 / €748,761 in 24 hours.
