Robert Rodat to Write World of Warcraft Movie

In a recent interview with MTV News, Warcraft film director Sam Raimi revealed that screenwriter, Robert Rodat will be in charge of the writing department to bring this epic saga to the big screen. Robert, known for being the screenwriter for Saving Private Ryan and The Patriot, seem to be the perfect choice for Raimi. Check it out:

"We want to be really faithful to the game...to the Horde and the Alliance and the mythology that takes place in the game, and the archetypes that the game presents. I think we would try and find touchstones within the game to make it accurate and true and choose one or some of the lands that are portrayed in the game with as much accuracy and authenticity as possible.

"But we would have our writer, Robert Rodat, really craft an original story within that world that feels like a 'World of WarCraft' adventure. Only obviously it's very different 'cause it's expanded and translated into the world of a motion picture."

Well, he sure does know how to write great battle scenes and given how WoW is... Seems like a perfect fit.

In my opinion, some of the rather large quests in wow, have a story line that only need to be edited and you have a premise for a movie, such as the one in Northrend with Bolvar Fordragon, Was epic.
