Additional Left 4 Dead 2 Footage

GameTrailers released an interview with Valve's Doug Lombardi back on the 9th of this month. In case you missed it, here's the video ripe with new information on Left 4 Dead 2, additional gameplay footage, and hints that the journey isn't yet over for the original four survivors.

Did you catch that bit about how we may still see more for Zoey, Francis, Bill, and Louis? Feel free to start hypothesizing on if we'll see them in Left 4 Dead 2!

Since he mentioned Crash Course in that same train of thought, I think it's more that Valve will continue to release more content for L4D 1.

Would really be nice to see what happens next from L4D1. We can not assume they made it since all the other outposts had failed, so who is to say where they go does not fail.

Now what would be REALLY tight would be for the next game (which we know they will make) would be some sort of base that the first survivors get to and where these new survivors get to and while both are in this camp people turn or it gets overrun or something. So the 8 players with perhaps 4 new additions (4x3) have to once again survive.

This could open the doors to a true follow up to L4D with more survivor groups going through the same level. So like mixed group A & B & C are in the same map but seperated and have to help each other various ways for an 8-12 player coop game. So imagin one of the spots where you have to call a chopper. One team is set up on an Antena while another keeps the helo pad clear and another provides support.

i could have swore somewhere in the press releases surrounding crash course they mentioned final DLC for l4d...but maybe i'm mistaken. I don't really understand why they would release anything new for the first l4d after l4d2 comes out, unless maybe its in response to the outcry over them releasing a sequel so soon to the release of the first one.

if they'd release the sequel as DLC, yeah that would be really tight......

Left 4 Dead 2 really looks like what the first Left 4 Dead should have been.

Well, for example, EA is still supporting both BF2142 and BF2. Plus, I think you're right about grief among L4D! owners. The brevity between L4D1 and L4D2 is too short, in my opinion, for many gamers even if L4D2 turns out to be an excellent game.

Yeah, but EA really doesn't have anything that could be considered a replacement for either of these yet, at least for the PC. I absolutely hate EA but at least they don't immediately turn around after the success of a game and release a sequel to it a year later. Valve use to be my fav. developer...still probably are, but I really hope they don't continue this practice. It hasn't been a year yet, and they're already trying to grab $50 bucks out of gamers pockets again.

I think the point of my post was lost on you.

BF2142 was released as a sequel to BF2. BF2142 has a modified version of the same engine as BF2 does. Also, they were released a little over a year apart, if I remember correctly. There isn't a lot of difference between the two, really, but EA is "supporting" both of them.
