Borderlands - the "Less Boring" Version of Fallout 3

Gearbox Software's head honcho, Randy Pitchford, claims that Borderlands will be "less boring" then Fallout 3. Now, before you start a massive debate over this claim, let's look at his reasoning behind the claim.

"I understand why we do those games [like Fallout 3] but I don't know - do we want that? I think that game could have been much better if it didn't have a single dialogue tree," he said. "Honestly. And if it was more action-orientated, and if the shooting was better."

"Maybe we're right. We'll see. We'll find out when we decide what people are gonna buy."

Borderlands will find its way onto store shelves and various digital distribution platforms later this month. It will be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms. Please note that the PC version is released on the 26th, while the console versions are out on the 20th (all dates are for North America).

I think that if the shooting and user interface in fallout 3 were a little better, it would have been a much more enjoyable experiance. So maybe he's got something...

Sorry to say but "Borderlands" whoever the hell you are, Fallout 3 has been the least boring, most immersive game I've ever played to date. The fact you are comparing yourself to it, is a tenement to how great it really is. It's an amazing RPG, a great FPS, a great Turn Based FPS (See someone else do that) and an awesome open world game with now 4 expansions !

So whoever you are "Borderlands" devs, go back to playing counterstrike where all people cared about was shooting things. Games evolved, maybe you should too.

I personally found Fallout 3 as many have said, to be one of the most immersive games i have played and fun the whole way through, HOWEVER, towards the end it did get boring.
