That is another part of the rumor, that it is being delayed in Europe only.

the only reason i can think of for it being delayed in Europe is that they needed more time to town down the blood or whatever in the game for the German release.
However, there is that nagging doubt in the back of my mind that "oh you/your brother not buying the game isnt going to change anything" as I still want it, for SP and maybe a bit of MP, but we havent gotten a price rise, but knowing that the community that I am a part of in other countries is suffering. :hmm:
If MS could make this an XBOX exclusive I bet they would.

Of course. They tried to charge developers for buying into the GFW brand, but some of the 800lb gorillas refused to come on board. Since they don't make money off of PC gaming hardware and can't charge a $10 premium on every piece of software released, they're willing to cannibalize PC game sales to pimp the 360.
Omelets and broken eggs and all.
They get theirs with OS and business software sales, anyway.
The fact that Iw hasn't yet said anything on this makes me belive that much more that it is indeed true.

his goober face, rich *** can care less when the pc version comes out. as long as he gets his pay check, hes happy. im sorry to sound like a complete jerk, but telling people the release date of something then bitching out on it its just bad business ethics in my book.
you releasing something, you make it available for everyone.
its like making the new harry potter movie that was out this summer in theaters only on Blu ray players but people that want the DVD copy have to wait a few months to a year for it to come out.

for bioshock 2 and and the new splinter cell game, they delayed the game yes. but you never know why they delayed it. they could be done with the 360 and ps3 versions and they are finishing up the pc version or vise-verse. and i respect that.
On a day I thought we'd be spending time talking about how the firefight on the Whitehouse lawn started...I found myself reading negative info instead.
Trying to keep a positive frame of my mind, I thought I would not make too much of this PC-SKU delay rumors (here are some) going around today quite yet. I don't know electronictheatre's reporting very much (the site that broke this rumor) so I'm not lending too much credence to them for the time being.
I do like weplaycod.blogspot.com and I have read about their "confirmation"...but they don't provide a named source.
The rumors are unsubstantiated as of right now and should be treated in that way.
Sometimes, it is safer to not jump the gun...as it could rename your BS website for something other than BASHandSlash.
So, I will take the safe road and just summarize the known knowns and known unknowns so far:
1) IW only started working on the PC SKU the last month or so. This info was given to me by a few folks on the "inside" (I'm using unnamed sources too...lol). Though the game is developed on the PC, the PC version of the game is not a simple port and does have some nuanced differences. I say this to indicate that the late start time was worrying enough that my informants thought it important enough to share with me as it indicated that the PC SKU might be delayed.
2) Rudedog, from FPSAdmin.com stated on BASH that, after speaking with Vince Zampella at the IW community event, the game would ship on time, but we would probably not have modtools on day one of release.
3) IW_Hyphen tweeted that he was playing on the PC version of the game last week.
4) electronictheatre.co.uk today reported that the Euro release for MW2 is delayed to Nov 24.
5) In response to the British rumor, weplaycod.blogspot.com apparently called an insider at ATVI who stated that the rumor regarding a delay to PC game release is true.
Speaking with the folks at weplaycod tonight, I found that the comments from their insider were more probably observations. So, his/her comments could be read another way: the PC SKU is late now and the guys that sign the checks are getting pissed - but this doesn't mean that the SKU will be late.
It's amazing how many times I have thought projects at my place of work would be delayed just before management announced "unlimited overttime".
As an aside, big companies sometimes will leak valid information if you can get to their employees within the first hour of any rumor (...did weplaycod get to Activision fast enough?).
6) PST*Joker called Gamestop today, they said the drop date is still 11.10.09. and please note their website still says 11.10.09 for pc as well. This may not mean much if the rumor is true - Activision might not have officially had a chance to warn the retailers.
7) Rudedog did not get any information from ATVI. Not a yes. Not a no. Does the complete lack of info from ATVI suggest that the PR guys finally swung into action and firmly stopping any leaks?
Currently, the rumor "fits" the theory I have had regarding the way IW has been treating the PC community: no news means they haven't finished making the product. But that does not mean that the rumor is correct. There is the very real possibility we are all looking at these leaks in such a way as to fit our own perception of the way IW has been behaving of late. For this reason the rumor has legs. I don't think there is any doubt that the PC game has been behind schedule, but this doesn't mean that IW won't catch that schedule up.
Delaying the game to counter pirating, another rumor I heard today, doesn't ring true for me. The game will be pirated...a two week delay won't make much difference here.
The most insightful comment I have heard up to now though, came from my wife after I told her about the rumor:
"...it's not as if they make any money off you (PC) people...so, who cares", she said.
Sad. Who knew she was a wannabe console game producer?

Originally due for a simultaneous release with the rest of 2009’s Call of Duty onslaught, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will now officially be late to the party. On November 10th 2009, the latest batch of Call of Duty releases will arrive on each of the leading formats.
