PC Version of Assassin's Creed 2 Delayed

A quick update via the Ubisoft Twitter page has just dropped the bomb about a delay for the PC version of Assassin's Creed 2.

Assassin’s Creed 2 PC has moved to the first quarter of 2010. A bit more time for the dev team to deliver the best quality game to you.

Originally slated for a simultaneous release on November 17 (NA) on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC it now looks as though only the console versions of the game will see the light of day on that date. PC owners will have to tough it out for a few additional months until after the New Year.

FFS not again.

This is bollocks and has nothing to do with 'making sure that PC users get the best experience'. They think it cuts down piracy and more importantly sells more console units because of the greater premium. I almost inclined to just pirate the game now for being ****ed around.

"Tough it out," or "Just pan it?" I'll be going with the latter. I wasn't really that impressed with the first one, and I agree that the primary reason to delay the release is they think it will bolster console sales.
Just take a look at the PC gaming section of Yahoo! Answers to get an idea of why. A very large number of questions on the site are from people who steal games and are too stupid to know how to install them and stupid enough to ask the internet at large how to play them.
Why would any developer think of a bunch of thieves as a priority when it comes to making games? Oh, that's right, they don't.

I actually liked the first Assassain's Creed. Though the piracy issue is something that the publishers have to contend with. I would rather the PC release get delayed than have to deal with SecuROM or some other nonsense.

Developers just have to start making an effort instead of using Securom or something that is really easy for hackers to circumvent. (Crysis Warhead comes to mind, AWESOME game but the copy protection was meh)

Having the game linked to Steam or a similar service would be much better.

ANOTHER PC delay?? Good God............. Freaking consoles....

But Steam would suck for those with limited internet access (i.e: schools) which would bring the market waaaaaaaay down.
