Many users on the Bungie.net forums are reporting a slew of disc read errors as a result of trying to play Halo 3: ODST. Wild speculation is flying about as to what might be the culprit behind such an issue.
The issue seems to mainly affect users attempting to play the main campaign or Firefight modes. A couple of potential fixes have been mentioned, one includes exchanging your copy for another, and another includes installing the game to your Xbox 360's hard drive.
Bungie is aware of the issue and is looking into it.
