Guitar Hero Boss: "Stop selling poor rival products!"

Guitar Hero boss Michael Sportouch has had a little outburst about poor quality rival products threatening the image and probably the bottom line of his company. Here is what he had to say:

"One thing I do say to retailers is that they should stop selling those rival products which don’t sell through, and instead focus on the products that are selling through and generate retail value and return on investment...

I’m not here to talk about the competition, but one of our competitors we outsell nine to one, eight to one or seven to one depending on the week. The last GfK research showed that we have a 50 per cent market share of the music category – which includes Rock Band, Wii Music, SingStar and every other music game."

Competition, whether it's good or bad quality is always good!

I find it amusing that without the effort of a certain competitor, they wouldn't even HAVE a Guitar Hero line right now.

(-_-) Everyone knows Rock band beat Guitar hero once Harmonix left Guitar Hero. That and guitar hero is just plain bad right now. Glitches and bugs run rampant in the game, and you can hardly enjoy it. That and they produce an average of about 5 guitar hero games a year without the quality of 1 rock band game. :shakehead:


The only reason Guitar Hero is selling more is because they have more games.

Gamewise rockband is better but I like more of the songs on Guitar Hero.

Michael needs to shut his trap. If the product is good, people will buy it. People will buy competitive titles as well because they want more songs or variety, but if GH is good enough, people should go back to it. If it is not, then he needs to look at what they are making and decide what to do to fix it.
