So I had to reinstall after the thing was ctd first time round, after 3 unsucessful attempts at reinstalling the complete collection (patch failing on sf), I bipassed the sf installation, as well as the EF anf AF ones. Finally got 1.41 to work after finding it on my pc (one on my bf2 disk wouldnt work), now installing 1.5

that took me 2 hours, its 2AM now

As i was typing this 1.5 installation gave me some errors so I aborted it, now I cant get it to work as it says i have a "newer version installed"

I tried doing 1.5, but you need to have 1.41, luckily had that on me external HD, installed the patches fine after that and played several rounds

I like the booster pack maps I was playing

Im enjoying the new maps and armies, just what the game needed. And the bug/gameplay fixes are much appreciated also.

I had the patch in 50 mins from fileplanet, including the 26 min wait. Barely had time to have breakfast.

Now its saying my CD key is invalid, I can't connect to any servers, I've tried the key recogniser program thingy in the bf2 directory and it hasnt helped (i patched after using it again)


any suggestions, I've wasted the past 2 1/2 hours trying to get this thing to work, Im going to bed fed up

My friend was having a similar problem, he said it was due to low disk space. Try cleaning up a little disk space and see if it opens quicker. Hope that helps.

Yep. Did disk cleanup and it opened up instantly. He never does any computer maintenance whatsoever, so this doesn't surprise me one bit.

On another note, try shooting enemies with your standard gun now. It works.

A very nice refresh for this epic game, over 1200 servers! Screw 1943, im happy with bf2.

Hit detection was spot on, was actually able to get kills by taking good shots, not just spamming the entire mag.

Loving it so far, especially the faster splash-screen-free startup that no longer looks for a DVD. Updated from my existing 1.41 install, no control/graphics issues here. :)

I hate you all, I don't finish work for another 2 hours (I left my PC downloading the patch) and all I hear is how good it is. Can't somebody say it is s*it and make me feel better? Anybody?

Agreed mate, I'm stuck at work for 5 more hours and would appreciate some negative reviews of the update :)

Good to see it getting good reviews though, can't wait to have a crack with the improved Blackhawk guns and the A10!

Well apparently the hitreg may or may not still blow, alt+tab doesn't work, and jets may or may not be completely screwed up. I'm hopeful though. Just starting the download now at 80 kb/s, hopefully my connection can manage to stay up for a few hours at a time for once tonight.

Hitreg is better, but not perfect. It actually takes some getting used to leading a target rather than aiming slightly behind. Alt+tab gives me a black screen and I have to exit out. Jets worked fine when I tried them out in singleplayer (not sure about the balance of air power yet).

Maybe now I start playing again...what would be the best way to install it again?
Bf2->1.41->Special Forces(As I remember I had to install a newer patch by hand first, simply stupid)->1.41->1.50?

did something change with sprint? it feels like i'm sprinting faster. maybe just overall everything is smoother. but performance is good. maybe its because there's not many people online yet.
