I'm going to date myself here, but when I was a young boy a hamburger at Mickey D's cost 25 cents. They used to advertise on TV that you could get 2 burgers, a fry and regular coke and get change back from your dollar. Less than a buck!

I don't hold it against Mickey D's that now a meal costs nearly $10 bucks. It is a matter of economics.
Lets face it, youre not a real gamer if you havent wasted half the internets bandwidth b!tching and moaning.

When developers create more content and not less and then not turn around and nickle and dime people with DLC that used to be included with the game or provided for free, maybe then the extra cost can be justified - didn't work out so well for L4D players expecting to be inundated with free DLC for their game like Valve did for TF2 though.

The up and coming disturbing trend is to turn every game into mini MMO's with monthly fees, an extra $10 a month times how many games do you want to play?

The cherry on the top is in-game ads, unwanted, over the top eye spam without even a hint and lessening the price even a penny - I'm really surprised that Activision didn't jump on this for MW2, maybe they're holding out for a last minute surprise announcement.

The cost of making video games is going up. The ingame ads were not meant to reduce the cost just allow for a bit of status quo as far as maintaining a price point.

Gamers have got to be the hardest customers of any to satisfy.

WaW has 10 new MP maps and three new zombie modes and it cost nothing extra for the PC gamer. How much do you think it cost Treyarch to make that content?

And as for you Jojomaz, I'd come over there and kick you a$$ but my Depends are full again.

Point 1 - True, costs go up, but in-game ads bring a definite boost in cash flow. And they've been in movies for quite some time. Just a coincidence that they'll use a Coke vs. Pepsi, or a Mac instead of a PC? Cha-Ching!

Point 2 - AGREED, we are like cranky old women who somehow still have PMS and it's humid. Lol at that visual, but I'll agree. If I was a game developer, I would say mutha...would you people stop being so harsh. Meanwhile, the stereotype of a console gamer, not all, is omgzors, you developers are teh c00lest thing evar!1!

Point 3 - Some are beginning to realize that a lot of this "DLC" being sold for games is actually made before they ever release they game and they purposely hold it for extra cash. And let's see...over 6 million total downloads of Treyarch's map pack at $10 a pop...I'd say giving us the free ones is not exactly hurting them too much. Yes, I realize they do not get all of $10 buckaroos.

Point 4 - Just as I planned old man, just as I planned.
