Well, i'll be holding off till the price goes down or I see that more then 6 of my friends have it on XBL. Though I was hoping that there was more then 2 players on that spec ops thing.

Re: MW2 - To Buy, or Not To Buy?

its the principle of charging pc games more that's the issue. mw2 will still sell really well even on the pc. acti-blizzard might end up charging every pc game $60 after this cause they know it will still sell. and later every pc game might be $60. mw2 is just a testing bed for charging pc gamers more.

My individual opinion probably doesn't matter but I'll say it anyway and keep it short and sweet.

I won't be buying until both these requirements are ticked:
          • The price comes back down to Earth
          • The game play (not the graphics) are proved to be of sound quality for a release. Be that by demo or solid critic reviews.

The PC side is a secondary side. We don't get anything extra, unless you count a browser to play on servers close to you extra. Which we pay for btw.

Here is my take on it; if the game is priced at that $60 spot, you boycott it. If you can find it for regular price or less, then you get it.

All these people getting it no matter what is why a boycott doesn't work and the features and support in games continue to go downhill.

                The sheeple speak.

Buying something, anything, tells a company that people like this product and will therefore create more. Its supply and demand. If the price goes up $10 and you get the same or bigger sales, that tells a company that the demand is still there and the price hike is justified. Is a price hike a problem? If so, then, yes, you are part of that problem. How can a "supposed" boycotte succeed if everyone buys it?

Also, if you read my posts about the boycott in the original thread, you will see that I am against it and that I do not believe it will work.

I dont quite know how to take that quote. We never played together, so of course you wont miss me. Is it an attack on the possiblity that you are a problem?

EDIT: Also, my take on it was toward Jomamaz and his delima, not toward anyone else. You sheep do what you want.

And I appreciated your opinion also, thank you. In fact, your point plus Chief82's almost confirmed enough for me to get this game. It's actually lower than the original price I was planning on spending on the game if you count the $10.00 gift card and as for being the Total CoD Site Director, it does seem important to have it. However, I believe if I was not in this position, I probably would still not buy it. I feel my duty...is calling me...:p

This game definitely seems to be a love/hate relationship with people.

Why do I get the feeling that day one purchasers are going to be kicking themselves oh around the 27th of November (here in the US anyway), remember the deep discounts that all the holiday must-have games got last year? I predict it'll be $39.99 on the PC side at places like Amazon, for at least Black Friday.

The salt on the wound is that you can pre-order Operation Flashpoint 2 on the PC for $36.99 with free shipping from Newegg yeah, Newegg for crying out loud. I enjoy the RnG Call of Duty games, to a point - can't say I'm a mega fan but I did buy the last two in the series. Where's the love Activision?

You make a good point on the price Danger. Hence the reason this Wal-Mart deal is a great deal. Get the game for $49.82, but really, you're only paying $39.82 for the game when you get it, and you're paying $10.00 for the eGift card. You don't get it on day one, more like a week later. But a week later and I get to get the game at the price it should be along with $10 for a website I'm sure I can get a present for someone for Xmas. Hence saving me $10 in the future... or a free cheap gift lol.

At which point would it be justified for a game developer/distributor to raise the cost of a video game? I think that we have enjoyed several years of paying virtually the same cost for PC titles with nary a raise in price. Will you still boycott games in 2015 if games go up another $10?

I'm going to date myself here, but when I was a young boy a hamburger at Mickey D's cost 25 cents. They used to advertise on TV that you could get 2 burgers, a fry and regular coke and get change back from your dollar. Less than a buck!

I don't hold it against Mickey D's that now a meal costs nearly $10 bucks. It is a matter of economics.
