That's a truly ridiculous price!

I for one will no longer be getting this game. It would have to come with a free 'perfect woman' to justify this insanity.

Meh. I've gotten to the point where I despise playing with a bunch of scrotes that should have just been wiped into a Kleenex.
Teamkillers, runway blockers, forced teamkills, spawn campers, team stacking/switching, cheaters, glitchers, downloaders of artificial skills, squeaky-voiced loud mouths who hide behind the anonymity of the internet... :dead:

Im on the bench with this one, i certainly don't want it to set the bar higher for other game companies, and IW have really dropped in my opinion of them, but i KNOW im going to enjoy MW2, so i really dont know.

I build computers for fun and, occasionally, a _very_ small profit...

The first computer I built in 2000 cost me about a thousand US, for something that was approaching leading edge. In 2009 to build a machine that was ON the leading edge it cost me more than double that. With DD liquid cooling, it was even more, and that was pretty much called for by the component choice and tasks to be assigned them...


Let's conservatively call it 130% increase in cost. I am extremely cost conscious within the constraint that the components must be excellent where reliability and performance matter, and buy only in the most cost-effective manner. What is to be made of this? IN 10 years, my cost increased on average, 13% annually. Should I have stopped making machines? Shall I stop when the graphic cards cost more than all other components combined? (not too distant). Mm, no, if what is delivered gives capacity and reliability up to the level of the cost within the market structures (premium price for a premium product, average price for a reliable middle of the road component, low price for schlocko/'who ever heard of that brand' type product). By the way, if I made a machine for you, I would charge you my cost plus a fee, so sorry if your prices went up a bit...

I will pay a premium price without complaint if the product IS a premium product. Who here wants to argue about whether Infinity Ward has and will deliver a product superior to the PC market to what we have seen from 'elsewhere'?

The thing with this series is the multiplayer. You will play that for days, months, and longer. We will complain about all the things we hate about the 'idjits' online, and server glitches, bugs and so forth, even though we can always quit when we get mad... But anyone price a movie lately? Trip to your fav, overseas beach? Do you get a chance to repeat, or do it again when you feel like it for nothing? Its way cheaper than building computers for fun and self-loathing. LOL

As has been ably said elsewhere, there is no comparison for cost per hour, and ten bucks or ten quid won't make a damned bit of difference in the equation.

I will most likely acquire three copies, as I have to for most titles these days given the other users in the house. Might have to put off building a computer for a couple of days to make up for it though...

Wal-mart has MW2 for 49.83 plus a 10 egift card. You have to order online but hey it's worth it.

FYI, I canceled my pre order quite some time ago and am not planning on getting the game on release. Guess this is like my version of a boycott, but this is all BS!

Got BF1943 and BadCo. to keep me busy until this game drops to a reasonable $30 bucks...just to spite them for raising the price.
