Left 4 Dead 2 Announced + Trailer + Release Date

Valve has announced the sequel to their hit zombie slaying game Left 4 Dead and has published the debut trailer for it. It looks like New Orleans will be one of the locations to fight off the zombie hoard this time around. The player will also be able to wield a variety of melee weapons, from axes to chainsaws. Also noted is the game is set to come out on November 17, 2009.

From what ive seen so far, it looks more like a cheap knockoff than a sequel, but thats just my opinion.

I would definately consider it if it had the old characters, but I like the prospect of new weapons

Yay! They finally announced the second DLC! :yay:

Why it's a DLC, you say?

• The people that played that little demo got achievements that we can earn in L4D.
  
• As far as i can see, there's no graphical improvement. It would be stupid to release a new game without even a few graphical improvements.
  
• L4D2 uses a similar HUD.
  
• L4D2 uses alot of the same models and textures used in L4D.
  
• L4D2 also has the Hunter and Smoker.

It's nothing like Valve to release a sequel after less then 12 months.

• L4D2 uses a similar HUD.
• L4D2 uses alot of the same models and textures used in L4D.
• L4D2 also has the Hunter and Smoker.

It's nothing like Valve to release a sequel after less then 12 months.

I kind of thought the same thing but I'm not really sure what to think given the name and everything.

It won't be free either way.

I also would have preferred some news about episode 3. Valve could have just updated Left 4 Dead instead of making a sequel, but I suppose they can't just keep on doing that because they wouldn't make any monies.

Until we see how many new Campaigns there are, and how much it's going to cost, I wouldn't make any final judgments.
