The dolphin diving thing is a little disappointing, I guess this is an excellent example of where the community stands.

Once people find an advantage, they don't want to give it up. And when it comes to polls/Internet, the vocal minority usually shouts down the silent majority.

One can only hope it will be better/fixed in BF:BC2.

No, just not a lot of the people who were originally opposed to it don't care anymore and have moved on since the mess they call 1.40. Only people that still play are the ones that can't move on because they have to much of what they call life invested in this game and those are exactly the ones that don't want to give up their edge. Hell strafe jumping still works in Quake Live, what does that tell you about the people playing the game (besides me:p).

Hopefully there will be more servers running the latest beta. Lately I've only seen 2 or 3 with people playing....

I assume it means that when you scroll the mouse wheel a bit, it'll go slowly and you can ramp up speed by scrolling more.

True I suppose. I only very rarely play vanilla. Was looking forward to this patch til now. The mods are really where I am at, so may they continue the fight against lolprone shooting.

It's not a speed hack...
It's more like having near analog control over your speed. In 1.41 you're either mashing the gas or stopping. In 1.5 you can modulate your speed a bit.

And they are more affective against helicopters than jets. I've taken out plenty of helicopters with AA, I can even take them out with a tank.

I have a big problem with jets. Jets lose each other in clouds, hmmm.... but they can come straight down out of the clouds and shoot an infintry out of a mounted AA gun. This has happened to me so many times I can't count.

The jets in Tampa are fighter jets, which have a much harder time killing tanks without using multiple runs. I guarantee you if you put a good chopper pilot and gunner on that map I don't care how good you are with AA you will die instantly and never see it coming. With the jets if he OHKs your tank you tip your cap, and if he's unsuccessful, you hop out and fix it so by the time he flies back and re-arms his bombs you're at full health again. Against a TV missile your only option is to lube up and bend over.

How the hell is dolphin diving considered a good/fun part of the game? I can't believe they changed this back... While I'm at it, Dolphin Divers can lick my left nut :p
