World at War v1.4 Patch Update - 3/31/09

JD_2020 has posted a minor update over on the official Call of Duty forums regarding the v1.4 patch for the PC. In his post, he addresses some rumors that were circulating the net. Take a look:

The Patch (and DLC) is not releasing for the PC this week. By now you've realized the patch did not come yesterday as the rumor claimed. I am not sure exactly where the rumor started, but as always if you didn't hear it from me, and I am not confirming it, you should take it with a grain of salt.

We have not yet posted an ETA for the patch or the DLC - we are still working some things out behind-the-scenes and do not have further information at this time.

When we do have more information, I will be sure to provide it. There have been requests regarding which "Phase" of the patching process we're at, but we are in a different process this time around where DLC is releasing hand-in-hand with Patch 1.4. As such, there are additional steps that are unique to this update and therefore override the standard delivery timelines. I will not respond to requests for specific dates – there are many factors outside of the control of the development team, and I can only speak to those parts of the process that are within the control of the development team.

I bet those other factors deal with a sponsorship to get us the DLC for free like with CoD4. That would be somewhat 'out of their control' imo.

I do believe that is an unfair, negative nelly statement against Treyarch.

Modern Warfare 2, probably pullin' another IW by being a grenade-fest, martydom whorish, RnG, no skill, small map, patches needed game also.

Jo, FOR SHAME! You know just as well as I do that MW was released perfect with no flaws at all and MW2 will be the same.

Its just yet another long winded post from JD that says absolutely nothing at all.

Its also funny how he using the "patch process" for previous delays.... and when people ask now what step they are in... "Oh its a different patch process now so I can not comment". Seems they are taking a page from EA and just telling people what they "think" we want to hear.

Lost a lot of respect for JD since moving to his new position.

The game worked...but had probs. Just how CoD:WW worked, but with problems. With both CoD4 and CoD:WW, there were certain people who couldn't play at all. You have to also look at that a lot of people still had XP when playing CoD4 instead of Vista with CoD:WW.

Sounded good? I hope you don't mean the sounds in game b/c as much as I absolutely love the CoD series, I will never defend that they have good weapon sounds at all. They are little pea shooting, staple guns. They have always been that way. I always hope they'll improve the weapons sounds in the next CoD and it never happens. It's something I've come to grips with along with the fact that I have to 'hover' instead of having a weapon bob.
