Where did i say a wanted BF3 ????, because that is the very point, i don't want BF3, i have moved away from EA/DICE games and moved on to games like graw 2 and rainbow six vegas 2, maybe you would have knew that if only you took the time to read, 19 year old kiddie.

And nobody said anything about a publicity stunt apart from you, beacuse i don't think its a publicity stunt, but DICE don't want you giving up on them like i already have, in 4 years time i will come back here and you lot will still be saying, '' please DICE give us BF3, we have waited so long ''.

DontKnockIt225 you might want to go and cool down now little kiddie, night night.

DontKnockIt225 you certainly do have a point about people claiming they will never play a BF game again yet continuing to post about it.

But you're being undeniably rude, it's just unconstructive and does you no favours when trying to convey your points/opinions.

As you can see from L96A1's post you've just provoked the same insulting crap in response.

Here's my take on this guy spilling a bit of beans:

He has to. I have first hand experience with this.

Back in the Desert Combat days (a bf1942 mod) there was no communication with the devs to the community after version .7 and the news that DICE bought out the mod.

So I had to go out and leak some info in order to get the DC guys to come forward with the future plans (no more work).

We were then free to create DC_F with some of the original .8 material and tester additions. Sometimes when no one wants to talk - you have break the ice.

A lot of times people under NDA's (non-disclosure agreements) would rather say nothing than something due to liability purposes. It takes a big-mouth cocky bastard to break the ice and get information flowing again.

After reading the blog posts, they still don't get it. I don't know why they don't understand that we want realistic, large scale, sandbox battles. What is so hard to grasp?

The amount of work that would take, EA only makes games to make a quick buck. Its a lot easier to make a sub par console game, port it over to the pc and then tell everyone to shove it, I.E. MOH:A.

Well the first blog did confirm one thing. 1943 will be a console port.

"Does us releasing 1943: Pacific aimed somewhat at a console crowd with an easier, less advanced approach mean an affront to the core Battlefield players out there? We don’t mean to insult you."

              And finaly,

he has posted this now, its pretty much a poor me post.

              Taking a Step Back

I’ve been doing quite some thinking about things, and considering the interpretations my post from the other day has got, and some of the speculations going on I’ve decided to take it and the followup post offline. I’ve tried explaining my viewpoint on it, but it hasn’t seemed to make much of a difference.

I love being able to communicate with fans of the games I make, and I certainly won’t stop communicating on how to make the best games possible for all of you guys.

I wish these people from DICE would stop all the misleading marketing shouts,
"OH My G0D, new battlefield in the makes???"

WHOOPTIE DOO by the time you bring it out the original community already raised a new generation ffs...

"You havent played the game" talking about a 24 players game... maaaan whatever, i wish i could know right now how much these guys would play the game and have fun with it, when they are the 1st to defend it... (i bet after 1 week they also loose interest if it wasnt the product they where working on)

No need for another short term motivation game title.
                Wasted time and money.

Just get assimilated by EA fast... you already missed the boat anyways.

They really do risk losing a huge fan base to OFP2. I hear they plan on making it a game hardcore BF fans will like a lot.

Yes OF2 could be in essence Bf3.

220 square km (or 134 square miles) of land

over 50 different land, air and sea vehicles.

over 70 real life weapons in game, all supported by a realistic ballistic system

32 player (16 vs 16) in addition to the 256 NPC squad members (8 per squad per player)

yes you read that correctly 256 NPC players in MP.

yeah it does sound hokey, but if they pull it off correctly it will be epic. And i would imagin that there will be a No Bots option for MP setup.

I don't give a flying f...about bots, my squad are my clanmates, my enemy are other people, when I pull the trigger its a human that I am grieving. If I wanted bots, I'd play a f...ing single player game, not Battlefield.

256 real players would have a far greater demand of resources than the engine could probably handle. Let alone bandwith requirements. Bots are much easier to do and don't care what their ping is

I couldn't think of anything worse than 256 players... The game would have to be pretty sparse for servers and clients to be able to handle that.

Anyway, i think you'll find most Battlefield players (that includes people who don't go on forums (that's a lot of people)) probably don't want a realism game. Perhaps they quite enjoy the arcade mixed with a dash of real life?
