Laughing to hard (go back to school kid) at this to respond in full to the other attempts to bully. I will say not one of you brought up anything factual or a valid argument. I will say thanks for the compliment to the guy who though I worked for EA. My power of comprehension is strong and recognized! LOL at the naysayers.

I'm a little confused. You made up a number and now you're asking us for facts?

And actually - it is you who is the bully my friend.

this is true. a lot of us are just scared that if it goes well then they will mistakenly think that we want some of the "features" in the next big game.

I feel that hardcore BF games and this one can coexist but as cousins not brothers.

We don't owe them anything either. In fact, when our wallets are shut, so does their business.

Chew on this to, the market has changed, consoles are the best gaming outlet right now for studios and developers. Even for FPS! And before you're simple mind starts to spin I still think PCs are awesome for gaming, but consoles have caught up enough that their ease to game on won me and many others like me over. And the market is huge compared to gaming and piracy a lot less.
Best gaming outlet to make a good profit. There are many FPS games on consoles, only several are worthy of playing e.g. Halo 3, COD 4, FEAR 2, COD 5 and Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2. However, All of these games are much better played on a mouse and keyboard and much better played on dedicated servers, instead of P2P connections and quick match options.

All I see is a BF gateway with this game to draw in even more people to the BF games and not make it so intimidating. Perking there curiosity for your kind of BF and bring more players for you to enjoy the game with. IT also give guys like me who don't want to play ona PC anymore due to lack of time and money going for other things a chance to get BF action without the vast investment.
You are obviously a casual gamer. There is nothing wrong with that. But enforcing your preferences onto others is unecessary.

Clearly this is the message I see when reading the interviews, but that is because I actually read them and understand what they say. They also have clearly said they haven't forgotten you tools even though you may not deserve it based on your attitude towards them.
General consumers with open wallets deserve it. If it were not for them, DICE wouldn't be DICE. Console gamers should hold no special privileges over PC gamers and vice versa.

BF2 sold around 2.5 million, looking at the numbers maybe 25,000 at best still play BF2. That means 99% of the players quit this game and are looking for something different. [snip]
BF2 sold around 2.5 million in its first year, dating from 2005 to 2006, mind you, only on PC. Currently there are an estimated 25,000 still playing, according to you. But that is irrelevant because there are other games to play besides a 4 year old game.

Bad Company only sold 1.6 million copies and that is on 2 consoles. Currently, Bad Company has a small community of players and it has been this way since the few months after the game's release. Not really popular for an accessible game that should theoretically have a huge player base.

CoD 4 sold around 10 million and that wasn't for PC and CoD 4 is a much more accessible FPS than any BF game, but with way less depth than any BF game including BF1943 from the looks of it. I would love to have the next big BF game to have half those numbers and have tons of people to play with.
It was for PC/360/PS3 sales combined. It was accessible and it was a good game in its own right. But if you want games like Call of Duty 4, then stick with FPS like it. There is no need to enforce this concept onto other games like Battlefield, which is meant for large scale battles, not corridor skirmishes.

So DICE, you rock and keep making good games and pushing the envelope to open these great games to more people.
I don't disagree with making good games and pushing the envelope. But making games to cater to people who have little interest in gaming is hardly pushing the envelope. It is pushing innovation, diversity and content aside.

I would bet there wont be even a submarine or destroyer on Guadalcanal.

Ever since BF2 release every Battlefield title gave me bitter side taste wich becomes more and more dominant with every new title...

IMHO 12 vs 12 player battles will have a long time motivation of around 4 weeks at best.

The possibilty of Battlefield 3 is DICE's "carrot on a stick" to keep us buying half assed spin offs.

              F 'em.
