Re: CoD6:MW2 Will Arrive in 2009!
"Holiday Season" is the lead-up to US Thanksgiving and Christmas.
COD4 and CODWW both were released in the first week of November, so it's likely that COD:MW2 will probably follow that pattern as well.Comment

[QUOTE="[10]CinC.Pieman';2386232"]CoD5 took 2 years, and that felt rushed.
it's just my opinion ;P
@Dan, it wouldn't be WWIII, the terrorist country set off the nukes, and the russian ultra nationalists fired nukes at the USA. So it would be very much the same storyline as cod4 imo.
but otherwise I argree, stealthing around in a squad with Cpt. Price (like most CoD games >=P) is always good fun:)[/QUOTE
didn't price died like everyone else??? and whats imo??Comment

Re: CoD6:MW2 Will Arrive in 2009!
IMO = in my opinion
The "Price" comment was referring to what Dan was saying above, that the next game could be a prequel to COD4, going back in time to when Price was sneaking around with MacMillan.
We don't know for sure if Price died at the end of COD4 or not. They made it look like he was very seriously injured, and he may have died off-screen, but they didn't actually show it or confirm it. Smart move on their part - this way, they can do whatever they want in the next game, having him being saved at the last minute and bringing him back, or letting his character stay dead.Comment

Guys, don't forget that you destroy the Topol in flight as the MIRVs descend to the States.
Also, it was a joint op between SAS and USMC forces, so the Americans were aware of what was happening. Therefore, they would not respond had a warhead hit an American city.
I wouldn't mind it going back to the Middle East to be honest. There is no other conflict in which the US are involved in at the moment, I believe. I would like the same Eastern Bloc Europe/Middle East mix as in CoD 4. War elsewhere is simply AK vs. AK, BMP vs. BMP, Hind vs. Hind.Comment

i wonder if it would be cool to play as one of kamarovs soldiers? and actually start the mission with an ak(74, not 47 as in cod4)Comment

Re: CoD6:MW2 Will Arrive in 2009!
I wonder what the multiplayer is going to be like, and how will the game improve, CoD4 is so close to perfection, it has everything, every feature I ever wanted for CoD2 and 1.
Also I'm guessing as the PC tech goes forward and consoles stay back we the PC players will be held back with consoles graphically? The next generation is said to arrive in 2012, so maybe they'll wait 3 years after this game to develop for new consoles?Comment

Re: CoD6:MW2 Will Arrive in 2009!
I think they are basing CoD6 on CoD4's Engine, so the graphics won't be a huge improvement, it will feel like playing CoD4 again... except it would have a tonne of new features, new storyline, possibly new multiplayer gametypes... well the graphics would be different, but you probably won't notice a huge difference, it'd be like CoD4 to WaW... same polycount kind of thing...Comment

Re: CoD6:MW2 Will Arrive in 2009!
I agree with that and there will be jeeps and tanks as well as MANY options to modify the servers, like you have in WaW.
I know most prefer CoD4 to WaW, but on a server admin perspective, WaW beats up 4 in options.

Re: CoD6:MW2 Will Arrive in 2009!
COD:WW made some nice additions to COD4. The unfortunate part is that, for whatever reason (lack of time, poor testing, less talented programmers, too complicated audio & netcode, lack of help from IW, etc), some of these features are more buggy than we'd have liked.
I'd hope that IW takes many of these features (ie. vehicles, co-op, more server options), fixes/cleans them up, and includes them in COD:MW 2, along with even more features for MP (which they finally seem to be realizing is where most people want them to put their time & effort).Comment

Re: CoD6:MW2 Will Arrive in 2009!
tbh I dunno what to think of it, it could be exactly the same as CoD4 and it will be a failure, as I don't want to pay more money for something that could easily be released as an expansion.Comment

Re: CoD6:MW2 Will Arrive in 2009!
Ditto! If they just release a similar game, i.e. purely a sequel type game, I won't be very happy with it at all. NOW, if they can come up with a new storyline and some innovative features, along with taking some of the creative production Treyarch brought to the table (co-op and GORE, truly does add to the war experience), then I could see being happier with it.
So, we'll see how much risk they put into it. However, knowing IW in the past, they usually play the safer route. Hence the reason I have liked CoD:UO and CoD:WW b/c they do take more risks which can hurt them, but I truly appreciate their creative side i.e. adding the gore, co-op, nazi zombies and more. Granted, you must have a solid game, but after that, I then want a fun game.Comment

Re: CoD6:MW2 Will Arrive in 2009!
If they make it a sequel, then it would be just after the Nuke was launched, and there would be an all out war... it'd basically be World War 3, as designed by IW...
If they make it a prequel, then it could be around the time Cpt.Price had to snipe that guy and only got his arm... we didn't know too much about that time, and we don't know if that guy responded - since I doubt he'd just hide away and do nothing for a few years with a missing arm...
Therefore:
Sequel = bigger battles
Prequel = possibly more stealth missions
I'm kind of hoping for a sequel, that way while they build bigger SP battles they will 'most likely' also build bigger MP battles, since every CoD has used MP maps based on the SP levels. If the SP levels were huge open battlefields, then they will probably base the MP levels on the same thing... and bigger battles in MP is win, it'd make Call of Duty more like Battlefield in terms of 'big battles' - but without as much vehicles...
If they make a sequel I'd like better USMC missions then what they put it. It was just run and gun, a Marine dies nothing happens and nobody helps him, also there's always random people with the SAS team, same with the Marines. Get an attachment to the characters like in Brothers in Arms and some cinematics like in BIA. Anyway I was really disappointed by the USMC missions in COD4. It' was just a stupid bloodshed and no story behind that battle.Comment

Re: CoD6:MW2 Will Arrive in 2009!
Personally, I was glad that there weren't very many US missions as I'm sick of it always being US vs random Middle Eastern terrorist group thing. If they make a sequel I'd like better USMC missions then what they put it. It was just run and gun, a Marine dies nothing happens and nobody helps him, also there's always random people with the SAS team, same with the Marines. It' was just a stupid bloodshed and no story behind that battle.
Anyway, I probably won't buy this game right when it's released. I will buy it at some point though, mostly for the SP, because I know that HC has taken over the CoD series and I just can't play that mode.Comment
