    Re: Battlefield 1943 Developer Walkthrough

What i don't get is why have an ammo indicator if you get unlimited ammo?? surely that is just pointless. In the lower left corner it seems to show rounds/clips or actually i guess bazooka rockets/grenades - Did they plan to have ammo then someone moaned what we have to actually get more ammo.

And a never ending supply of grenades without the need to resupply? LOL

And i agree with drone on BC2 - so far the frostbite engine although pretty has shown no signs of being able to recreate the classic battlefield experience and teamwork. Together with dice showing no real "Public" interest in doing so with all their efforts so far moving the series further and further away from its core values.

I think if anything BC2 will be more similar to Frontlines(with auto health regen / consolish interface /overpowered equipment that focuses on the individual and the like.....) than the battlefields we love.

i think bc 2 could be good, but i dont think there will be much difference between the console and pc version i mean graphically there might be but im talkin about the multiplayer side, like no server browser? 24 player limit? i hope that wont be the case, whats the point of theres no server browser seriously?:hmm:

Hi, Im new here :) Now back on topic

Im not sure if I heard Dice in an interview experimenting different ways in making money like BF:H being free but pay for clothing and stuff. Maybe this is also another take at it but selling little packs of downloadable content.

And about the unlimited of ammo and endless supply of nades, I dont think it will be that bad. I was thinking maybe there is a cooldown on the grenades, like throw your 3 nades and have a small cooldown bar that fills up in 1min before you replenish back your 3 nades.

              Re: Battlefield 1943 Developer Walkthrough

Dude, it's funny how history repeats itself. I had flashbacks to the multiplayer demo of BF1942 from August 2002!!! Same map, same armies, same vehicles!!! Wake Island has been redone how many times now? Let's count... Battlefield Viet-Nam, BF2, BF2142 but hey a 5th time is the charm right? For all you xboxers and PS3 users welcome to the PC world of 7 friggin' years ago. Weeeeeeeeeee!!!! For all us PC users who don't have head injuries resulting in memory loss we get the same game we had back then but with snazzy graphics, fewer kits and fewer maps. Guess what? We had flying back then and for those of us who played it that since of novelty is only "eh". You console gamers enjoy your sudden thrust into PC gaming circa 2002.

              Lame...
Prediction: Yes the price is cheap but they're giving so little. 3 maps? So 1st it'll be $20 for 1943 Pacific, then $20 for 1943 North Africa, then $20 for 1943 Eastern Front, then $20 for 1943 Europe and why not $20 for China, Burma, India? It must be really cool for them to have all those same statics and models and just reskin 'em for more detail. It means 1/2 the work is done, or was done... 7 years ago!!! There was the infamous Road to Rome scam. They sold us RtR which added several maps, new armies and new vehicles but if you were clever and looked many of those resources were already in 1942, just locked away and unused.

What would I like to see?
More vehicles, more server side options like adjustable atmospheric conditions (rain, dusk, dawn, night). How about a really simple kit system? A selection of uniforms, heads and bodies to customize you look to a point then you have 100% stamina BUT for every item you add you lose a percentage. Then the players can balance their "loadouts" to optimize their effectiveness and stamina. Sure you can have a bazooka but don't expect to carry mines, a rifle and a med pack with it.

              We'll see.

wats funny is its really the same engine lasting a decade, infact i think 42 was the pure version where the maps was huge and the draw distance was nearly 1-2 kms vs the 500 meters now. There was also little lag(even though i was 56k then lol).

those three maps are huge camping maps i can remember from 42 and huge on air power

I am a fan of the older planes tho,I dont expect a helo but i do expect another free dc game mod eventually like the good ole days.

all this xbox 360 gameplay is kinda scaring me, you'd think they would want to showcase it on the most powerful equipment money can buy......this better not be some fubared mess like GTA4 in the PC optimization department.

For the last time, this isn't meant to be a "classic" Battlefield like 1942 or 2142, it's more of a side game.

And I love the old-style themed menus.

Do you guys really like the graphics in this?

To me they just look 'cartoony', not realistic at all... not even BF2 standard...
