3 classes: infantry, rifleman, and scout. Rifleman and Infantry are synonymous, they do the same ****ing thing! Who are these liberal cheerleaders working at Dice? take your eyes off your 5 monitors and read a history book or go sit down with a military historian and forget about your syntax for a minute and worry about historical accuracy for a change. I know your fanbase of grammar schoolers might not care but atleast you can show some respect to those who fought at Iwo, guadal, and Wake.

This sounds very close to what was being developed in Korea... is it the same? I remember being astounded at the description (by the Korean lead developer) which sounded very similar to BF:H. I remember wondering why they'd have two different teams working on such similar projects...

Heroes is all about microtransactions, online ads and distribution. BF1943 seems to appeal to the casual gamer and consoles. That means to me that the unspoken development efforts for BF3 are still in-progress and un-announced. I can wait.

DICE aren't releasing BF1943 and expecting you to all take it as the next "hardcore PC" Battlefield as you are. It's an arcade-style, simple, cheap game. It's something extra, not the main PC release. Stop whining.

If you're waiting for a hardcore game, wait to see how BC2 is going to turn out. If it's going to be a 24 player, poor-multiplayer, cheesy Battlefield... I'll join the whining band wagon. It does, however, have potential to fit in the shoes of the "BF3" we were all expecting. It would have to be a bit different to Bad Company 1, but that's not something that's completely unreasonable to hope for.

Agreed. BF:BC2 has the potential. DICE just needs to unleash that potential.

What y'all are leaving out is the year wasted creating the crap they called Mirrors edge.

That has to be the worst announcement for BF2 and BF2142 fans, ever!

Coming on second is this weeks!

                Dice is EA Jr now,
I hope a company comes along and takes BF2 ad BF2142 series a Big Leap forward, not back.

it's a slippery slope. Caita hit the nail on the head. They got it right the first time with bf1942

                  multiple specialized classes improved depth
checks and balances in power improved strategy (multiple ways to kill a single item)
Variety of approach based on movement type improved strategy
no f**king uav/scan helped increase the edge-of-your-seat covert ops missions
5 minutes to pick up the game but a lifetime to master
ability to customize class for specialty roles that changed as the battlefield did just makes sense.

lets just hope our feelings are at least heard and considered.

                  and to quote CAITA:

To leave behind what made the BF series one of the greatest games out there, and releasing this crap is beyond me.

But it is an arcade game. You all seem to expect some hardcore PC game when it's in fact an arcade game downloadable from xbl arcade marketplace (or whatever it's called). Why would anyone want a server browser in a console game anyway?

Atleast implement a proper server browser, 64 players and mod support! Then leave the rest to the comunity, I prefer to wait another year for a good mod to come out then play this "new" game...

People still buy BF2 because of the mods, and there are still some life in BF1942 and mods, learn from this, Mods exist to enhance and improve the original game, don´t understand WHY Dice still do these half ***ed games, my best guess is there are still people that buy them...
Totally agree with you here. One of the best ways to support a community is to release proper modding tools (anyone else looking forward to the L4D patch? :)), and I'm not sure DICE has understood this yet.

Its going to be a console, arcade shooter just like the first one. Why you guys think BC2 is going to suddenly be a PC BF2 sequel are setting yourselves up for disappointment. It has a different name, specifically because its a completely different game.

                            BC1: Console, arcade shooter

                            BF2: PC, arcade shooter

                            BC2 for PC: ?

                              You're missing my point.

I'm not saying I think it's going to be completely different to the first Bad Company. I'm saying I have no idea what it's going to be like, and neither do you. It's irrational to make a call either way because no information is available yet.

The only thing I would add, is that I do know the game is being made (from jump street) with PC in mind. That's going influence development. Bad Company 1 was not. That's going to produce changes between the games.

BC2 may be a crappy updated version of BC1, or it may be a completely different game with the same title simply because the single-player story follows. No one knows yet.

Just wait for more information comes out before you go declaring the PC Battlefield experience dead. It very well may be, but there's no logically sound reason to believe that yet without making assumptions.

Allright, for all those who are saying that BC was a "half assed consolized game" and DICE is spending no time on making a PC exclusive game...

BC was a AMAZING game, playing it with a mouse and keyboard would be wonderful. I am ecstatic over the fact that there is a BC2 and can't wait for it. The only thing that worries me however is the player amount/server browser.

I will even go as far as if BF:BC was expanded upon, it could easily beat out BF2/BF2142 in gameplay... Because it was a massively fun game.
