Re: Kotaku Previews Battlefield 1943
Me thinks DICE need to go back and play all the original PC BF games then play these new console games and feel ashamed for what they have done/doing. Auto Health + Unlimeted Ammo ect... for gods sake ?? LOL :)
It's not like what us PC gamers would happily spend our cash on is a hidden secret!Comment

Re: Kotaku Previews Battlefield 1943
That was from back in May 2008, so the news is either BF1943 or that BFBC2 is being brought to PCs. It's almost a cockslap, isn't it? It's like being promised a filet mignon steak and instead the steak is given to the whiny 11-year-old and you get his half-eaten Happy Meal without the toy.http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/pc/20...-ben-cousins/2
Interview: Ben Cousins, Executive Producer of Battlefield franchise...
Still waiting on that announcement that'll make hardcore gamers very happy.
On the bright side, at least now we know who to send the hatemail and bags of flaming dog **** to.
Yeah, and guess where the PC gamers' prong ended up...Originally posted by TomeisThree pronged assault: BF:Heroes, BF1943, and BF:BC2?

to be honest BF1943 seems like a buffed version of BF:H.
and if people have to buy it online i guess they can count me out, sad cause i was pretty interested in the game.Comment

Re: Kotaku Previews Battlefield 1943
Totally agree, what the hell are they playing at!? :shakehead:At least they're including boats in this game. In fact, here's a sneak peek of one of them:

Seriously...unlimited ammo, auto-health, only 3 classes (all of which can destroy vehicles), and 24 players max. Yeah, this will definitely tide the hardcore PC BF fans over until BFBC2 (a console port) is released. Assuming, of course, those particular hardcore BF fans happen to be missing half of their skull.
Why the hell are they wasting time with these half-arsed games instead of working on a TRUE sequel to BF2/BF2142? Are 3 mediocre games better than one good one? Augh...Comment

Re: Kotaku Previews Battlefield 1943
It's in the official announcement on the main page. There's no mention as to if the game will have dedicated servers or just be hosted by gamers themselves.
On the plus side there won't be any weapon unlocks, but then that might also forgo any stat tracking and or rank system too. If they use Windows Live for multiplayer then you'll have the same achievements as Xbox players.Comment

Re: Kotaku Previews Battlefield 1943
Personaly after BF1942... Every game by Dice sounds like crap, and even Bf1942 had tons of good mods to make it last longer, Bf1942 and some mods only died with BF2 and some of the mod ports... So you see a simple game like Bf1942 still beats the crap out of many of Dice "new" games... Bah.
The only good game after Bf1942 was BF2, new game engine, new features, a good proper solid new game. But for me it didn´t had the "feeling" of the old one, but that depends on the view of each player.
The ONLY thing i´m excited about this "new" game is the destructable enviroment... The rest is Dice arcadey stuff, Auto heal? Infinite ammo? 24 Players? 3 Maps...? C´mon...
Make a proper game Dice, even if it´s arcadey, atleast give a good base for mods to work with, that or the game will be played for the first year (or 6 months) and then just die.
Atleast implement a proper server browser, 64 players and mod support! Then leave the rest to the comunity, I prefer to wait another year for a good mod to come out then play this "new" game...
People still buy BF2 because of the mods, and there are still some life in BF1942 and mods, learn from this, Mods exist to enhance and improve the original game, don´t understand WHY Dice still do these half ***ed games, my best guess is there are still people that buy them...
What a load of... Argh.Comment

When I mentioned in another thread that essentially this was what BF:H I was shot down, yet let's be honest after reading the above I was right, it's just an upgrade from BF:H.Comment

Re: Kotaku Previews Battlefield 1943
i think this makes it official......the days of DICE doing PC exclusive games truly are over......i wouldn't be holding my breath for a new PC exclusive ever again out of DICE, not after they got a taste of how easily they can make much more money from the consoles.Comment

Re: Kotaku Previews Battlefield 1943
Hard to believe but true, and Heroes is about as far from a classic Battlefield game as it gets. They're taking this idea of making their games more approachable to casual gamers to new lows.
I guess it's just too risky of a business decision to go all out on a full fledged battlefield game and have it not be a massive success so you get these mini-fields instead.Comment
