Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Officially Announced - with PC release
They did it with CoD4? I don't see any stock maps that are designed for the player cap that was raised to 50. Plus, COD4 PC has the same stock maps that the console versions do. If DICE decides to follow the same route, then we'll only have 3 stock maps.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Officially Announced - with PC release
IW pulled it off very nicely for CoD4. The PC version has a lot of things the console versions don't have. There's mods, custom maps, free updates with new maps etc. I really hope DICE can do the same, without watering it down too much for PC. You could tell CoD4 was "consolized" even if it was a very solid game.Leave a comment:

I agree, but I just don't see that happening with it being multiplatform.Leave a comment:

It gets better later on, I completed it on hardOriginally posted by DeesiesSpeaking for singleplayer, I hope it's a little more epic. You only ever got to kill maybe 4 or 5 bad guys in one area in the first D:
, I'm now going through getting the gold and doing it on normal for the trophies!! :wee:

If this game has 64 players, a lot of maps and a decent server browser I'm gonna buy it instantly. BFBC had a lot of things going for it... but it was on consoles...
BFBC had some of the best sound in a game ever, I hope DICE keeps improving on that.Leave a comment:

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Officially Announced - with PC release
I think this game will be pretty awesome if they change it for the pc. Meaning it doesn't take 20 shots to kill someone. I fear this means that the BF3 I have been waiting for forever will not come for awhile anyways.Leave a comment:

Yeah, but what are we supposed to expect? We can already compare BF2 to BF:BC and see the difference. We can even see other multi-platform games and see how they compare to true PC exclusives.Leave a comment:

It’s not like the story in Bad Company was an epic yarn, there’s not much more that wise cracks between your team mates interrupted by some lady over your coms telling you to attack point A and then move on to point B.
They could bring PC gamers up to speed with a two minute cut scene montage of "previously on Bad Company".Leave a comment:

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Officially Announced - with PC release
How's this going to work? Is it going to continue the story from BF:BC? If so, are we expected to have already played BF:BC so we can follow the story? Will there be a story at all? If so, say "hi" to loads of piracy, DICE, because we all know games with singleplayer gets pirated to death. The BF series have been immune to piracy simply because of the fact that time wasn't wasted on a singleplayer.
Not to mention the fact that the PC version will feel very downgraded compared to what could have been achieved if it was a PC exclusive.Leave a comment:

People want their cake and eat it too, you just can’t. You want massively destructible environments and player counts in the 64 or higher range, the amount of extra network bandwidth needed for the updates to be sent to each client dictates lower player counts.
I’m just glad they’re releasing on the PC platform this time.
My only main concern at this point is that they have a proper dedicated server setup and don't rely on people hosting the game off of their DSL/Cable modem connections.
and that they properly support widescreen monitor resolutions without zooming in the view to claustrophobic levels and then cropping the top and bottom of your view.Leave a comment:

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Officially Announced - with PC release
Very true.i think this is the BF3 title for PC. they haven't announced whether it's 64 players or not, so i hope people stop trippin' that it's a 24 player game like 1943. i have a feeling they will make it 64 for PC and make this the BF3 modern combat game people have been asking for. a separate BF3 title just doesn't make sense as it will further scatter online players.
But for the love of god, i really want a PC exclusive BF title.
To be be truthful my hopes and expectations of any further titles from DICE have diminished some what.Leave a comment:
