I agree with the no swearing rule. No one wants to play in a server full of immature people who feel the need to swear and call everyone a f***ing a$$hole etc. There is just no need for it.
And thats why you run swear filtering on the one server. When the bot detects the bad word and kicks/ban you, all is good.

The problem I have along with probably everyon else is when you have admins that could abuse this system on their one server, thus affecting you on everyones server.

The world is full of asshats. You can beat them up, ignore them, or say "Yes sir because theyre your boss, but give them more control and it gets abused.

Yup. Because those damn kids are completely inept at arguing and fighting their own corner without having to resort to some kind of personal insult or swearing.

    Redfield was an example.

I get real sick and tired of the weak, whiny video game culture that is slowly taking over. It seems like every server now has a no swearing rule, because they don't have any parenting skills and let their kids play M Rated games.

    Parents,
Learn how to be a parent, or don't be one. Don't make me or anyone else have to be responsible for what your child hears or sees.

I concur as well. There's pretty much unanimous agreement that actual cheaters should be banned globally. But "lame/jerk" behaviour is very subjective.

Someone could be having a bad day, or purposely doing it on one particular server to prove a point, or be completely innocent and the target of admins/clans who hate losing or are overly anal.

Wow this is a stupid idea. Just ban people off your server if you don't want them there. This sounds waaaayy too overboard. I agree with you completely JoMaMaz

True, but there is banning for a cheat/hack, and then there is subjective bans which is what this program would allow. That = not good.

Ah come on guys, Punkbuster does essentially the same thing, global PB ban, I've seen it before, can't join any servers, all this does is tag the player, hell, maybe Joker and Meat will make it so a player can loose their trouble maker tag if enough admins vote for them. It's all still early. Not every server has to use this btw, only the admins that want clean and mature servers running will use it.

    lol, nice sarcasm sir.

Yeah, I'm not going to get political, but there are a of things in the world where people will tell you things will be better with more control from some 'higher ups' who 'know what they're doing', but it's not worth giving up my freedom for it.

That's why I believe that if servers wanted to use this for their own personal servers, THIS WOULD BE GREAT! You don't like someone, fine, you pay for your server, do as you please. But if it's their time of the month and you piss them off, and then they globally tag you, you'll instantly have a bad rep at other places.

I know that when I've been on a tactical server before, people whine and hate the rules. I don't like them either; however, the server is clearly labeled as such, and I respect their rules for that server, IF, they follow them also. I like the 'tactical' clans that demand no running, but they'll run and say it's okay if you're under fire. You're in a war (virtual one), you're almost always under fire. But, I continue to follow their rules and when you do, and own them, it feels that much sweeter. It's their playground, they do have the right to make their rules.

I think this tool should be released, but the global part of it should be left out.

Dont like it at all...Its the same crap as the reputation on the XBOX Live: Own the wrong looser and they diss you.

But i agree on the trash talk: Youre on the server playing, its public and that means you should behave yourself and dont hide behind the anonyminity ( wrong spell?, not my language english sry) internet offers and trashspam the chatt or the voiceprogram.

Yeah, I dont know about this. I havent read the full article, but in order to prevent abuse there would need to be logging and a lot of proof of such things going on. Like Maxell said, it takes a lot of time and effort to catch cheaters and run a clean server. With bad admins out there, there will need to be some checks and balance to it.

I dont think Roamer should be banned because he had a rough night and a few too many

Its a game people. Cheating is one thing, being an *** another.

I'm all for catching cheaters any way possible but this is a bit much. There have been many a night where I'll play the game after have a few too many and get kicked or banned from a server because I'm a smart assed drunk. I'm usually a good little soldier but after a few too many beers and/or Scotches I tend to get a bit mouthy especially if the server has rules that I take issue with or they take issue with me.
