Teen Convicted in Shooting Death of Mother

We last brought you this story of a teen, Daniel Petric, who fatally shot his mother and injured his father after a dispute concerning a video game.

It was announced today that Petric was convicted by a judge in Ohio.
Defense attorneys for 17-year-old Daniel Petric didn't contest that Petric shot his parents in October 2007. But they insisted that the boy's youth and video game addiction made him less responsible.

But Lorain County Common Pleas Judge James Burge said Monday that is not a defense and there was evidence of prior calculation and planning.

Daniel now faces the maximum penalty of life in prison without the possibility of parole. This all came about after his parents took away the copy of Halo 3 he was not allowed to purchase initially.
