This is why they don't post dates -- too many variables make it easy to slip the date and then you've got irritated follks to deal with. I've been waiting so long for BF2 to be fixed that I could care if they took another year to fix it.

Well, I took a hiatus from BF2 and went back to BF1942 for about 18 months. To the guy that posted saying 80% play for the shinny metal crap, good gawd, I hope that isn't true. I play for the teamwork and would love it if they would remove this garbage. It takes away from what really matters -teamwork.

As to why no questions about BF3, I agree that might be hard to talk about, but I'd would have thought you could have *at least* asked something like, "Any plans for another Battlefield game being announced on the PC like '42 or 2 in the next two years"? That ought to be vague enough even for the most timid of developers.

... we already know the answer. It's something along the lines of:

"we haven't forgotten about the our roots and the hardcore PC gaming market...". That's all they would have said.

I agree that that is probably true, but if you don't ask, you'll definitely not get an answer. That much is guaranteed.

Think of it this way. What if no reporters had asked any questions about Watergate? Would we have ever found out? Of course not. Sure, they may refuse to answer, but as reporters, YOUR JOB IS TO ASK!

And get banned from DICE HQ from getting any interviews ever again? lol. It's just a game, it's not like DICE is doing anything illegal or anything :p

Surely they don't ban for just asking one question. That is absurd! They would get a lot more bad press for this than just having an answer no one liked.

Ask your question and then move on. No big deal that way.

They've already denied that BF3 exists.

I'm aware of that. The more everyone asks, particularly those in the press, the more likely they are going to feel compelled to give some sort of answer however.

No one is suggesting being rude. Many of us are blown away though that some seem to think even asking the question is wrong.

All questions are sent days prior to the interview and acceptable areas of questioning are clearly stated.

Every, every industry interview works that way, not just DICE. Otherwise, you wouldn't get great feedback.

I hope that map isn't the 64 version...looks small. The map looks decent...they need to hire people from the mod community to make the maps. Anyways...I don't really care if they release a new map...all I care is if they fix the dang bugs and the lag. There's no point of playing bf2 on a new map when there are bugs ruining the gameplay.

EDIT: Why do you guys keep complaining about BF3 news and such. There's no point of them telling us if there will be a BF3 cuz we all know that any game they rush to make will have bugs like BF2...etc. I'd rather have Dice concentrate on fixing the damn bugs instead of creating a new game just to release it with more bugs in which they try to fix it more with patches...Which is just an on-going cycle of fixing the same damn bugs that weren't fixed at all in the beginning.

Only DICE could proclaim how much mods have helped them, use the communities content in 2142, and not even blink at the fact that they performed the most minimal effort to help mods in BF2 and NONE AT ALL in 2142.
