Madden NFL 09 rocked the gaming world in the third quarter of sales. The title sold just under three million units since its release until the end of the third quarter (Q3 running from July to September of 2008).

These figures are for the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan. They were compiled by the NPD, Chart-Track, and Enterbrain and released in the Top Global Markets report.
