According to a recent poll by IGN, it appears as though the retailer of choice amongst gamers is Wal-Mart. Of those who took the poll, 62% said they prefered the large chain store to any other store, including GameStop, Best Buy, or Target.

I will normally go to Bestbuy, nicer buying experience :).
Gamestop, Walmart and Bestbuy are very close to me, it's less turns to get to Bestbuy :).

I typically opt for Wal-Mart myself. It's more convenient, no need to pre-order there (typically), and the prices are the same as everywhere else on the new stuff.

I only prefer GameStop when purchasing used titles.

WHAT? I live in the heartland of Wal-Mart and if I want a game thats been out for a while, thats where I go, otherwise forget it. I dont see how this can be right.

Maybe overall and for console games Wally World is the place. I could see that then.

I live in a rural part of ny. Wal-Mart is usually my choice because niche stores like Gamestop and EB games are an hour each way. Wal-Marts are 20 minutes each direction! :)

Gamestop only when there is a deal or awesome used game, Amazon/Ebay for rarer games, and big chain stores like Costco or Walmart for extremely random titles for birthday parties that I forgot about. I would buy games at Costco because they have some amazing deals, but I can't walk there. I can walk to a Gamespot near my house in about 10 minutes and I don't need parents around soon. EPICCCC WIN! FATALITY!!!!!!!!!:yay: LOL I'm pretty random, hence the NAME!

The Wal-Mart in my town isn't very good about getting games on release, so I usually pre-order from Gamestop (which is on my way home from school) a couple days in advance.

Walmart or bestbuy for me, though here in eastpointe theres a gamestop on every corner... Theres literally 2 within walking distance, ones a 5 minute walk, the others about a 20 minute walk.. I found the Wii Fit there a few weeks ago

We don't even have a gamestop in my town I think the nearest one is in Columbus or Lancaster.

We do have a Gamecrazy though in a HollywoodVideo

i go there ALL the time, but have NEVER bought anything or traded anything in, i go and check the values but they suck so i go to FYE instead.

I live 15 minutes outside of one of the bigger cities of Southern Ohio it's not like im in the mountains of canada and live in some small city named mooseknuckle.
