Missing Child, Brandon Crisp, Found Dead

This late breaking story from the Toronto-area news, reports that Brandon Crisp's body was found on Fifth Line in the Barrie area. Crisp, as you may recall, reportedly ran away from home after his parents took away his gaming console.

Crisp, as his parents described him, was "addicted" to gaming and may have been influenced by those he played with online. Among the games most played by Brandon, Call of Duty was typically his game of choice.
Police have found the body of missing Barrie-area boy Brandon Crisp. He was found on Fifth Line in the Barrie area.

The 15-year-old had been missing since running away from home on Oct. 13 after a fight with his parents over his video gaming habits.

A massive search was underway for the teen in Shanty Bay on the Oro Medonte Rail Trail, just outside of Barrie, since his disappearance on Thanksgiving Day.

Last week, a second witness confirmed seeing Crisp on the trail the night he disappeared.

His parents said the boy ran away from home after his Xbox was taken away. They say he was addicted to online games.

Investigators were analyzing data on his Xbox console for any clues leading to his disappearance.

A blue-checkered jacket, tent, crackers and full bag of chips were found on the trail on Oct. 24 after more than 400 volunteers combed the swamplands and fields throughout the township.
Certainly, this is not the ending anybody would have wished for this story. We'll have updates and more information as they're released.

Our thoughts are with Brandon's parents and family.

Sad to hear. My prayers to the boy and his family.

Figured as much this would be the result due to the amount of time from the disappearance.

Very sad, but as you said, not unexpected given the time he's been missing.

Hopefully some good will come out of it - helping other parents recognize the signs of addiction early/not letting it get out of hand; and also showing some parents that if you're going to take a tough approach and "let" your kid run away, you had better follow them in your car at a distance and keep your eyes on them to make sure nothing happens, while you wait for them to blow off steam and decide to come back home. I feel bad for the family, but in today's world, that was a really stupid thing the dad did. I'm sure he'll never forgive himself.

        Hmm,
I wonder how he actually died? If they found a tent, clothing...etc, it means that he left at least somewhat prepared, and the kid was 15. They didn't say anything about mentally ill did they? So, he would've had the instincts at that age to be able to survive, especially if he was on a trail. He must've known where he was going, he must've known what he was doing or he would've turned back, so unless somebody else did in fact get involved, I do not see how this could've been an accidental death?

Was he mentally ill? I mean, being away from home that long would kinda set in your parents just were looking out for him. His addiction to games tells me something was wrong with him and he should've been getting help from a professional, not just his parents taking it away from him.

Best wishes to his parents, hope they find out the cause and what not.

And also when you read that: "A blue-checkered jacket, tent, crackers and full bag of chips were found on the trail on Oct. 24", it's not a good sign. Granted, he could have fell or something, but parks in most bigger cities are not the best places to be at night time.

The only thing i have to say is: Holy ****ing ****! Never thought it would end this way...
But what im really asking myself is how he died? Suicide? Murder?

How the hell do you die? **** a Blue tent, Ritz crackers, sleeping bag, and my Patrick Star pillow would keep me chugging for at least 2 days. Thats when i ran out of fun cheeze and needed to find more cracker toppings.

You know I live where this boy lived. I don't know his parents or him but I have watched my community try to find him and now cope with the loss. It's a small place 150 thousand people. The amount of idiotic speculation I read in here makes me understand why you should never listen to what you read on the net. It wasn't a big city park , it was two hunters who found him in field. It is a farming area about 20 miles from Barrie. But that's not nearly as frustrating as people who say moronic things like his dad shouldn't have said that in this day and age. What, parents should just let their kids play X-Box games as much as they want for fear their kids will get upset? That's STUPID, what is the future if all our kids can do is play video games?

All I can say is I hope his parents or family never stumble upon this thread, I'm sure his parents will regret what happened that day for the rest of their lives but that doesn't mean they were wrong. As for the people who think their little jokes are funny about this, keep plating video games 20 hours a day, i hope you can get an internet connection in your cardboard box when you fail out of high school.

People need to face the facts that video games didn't do this. The kid needed help; kids at that age should be smart enough to know not to be provoked by strangers, especially those you meet playing XBOX360 on a Console.

I am guessing bad parenting was involved from the get-go and/or something wasn't ticking right in the kids head.

Different opinions, sorry for your community's loss as I said. But to me, 150k is a bigger city. My town...10k people...yeah. Just moved to an even smaller area. Speculation happens when we don't have all of the facts. It shows that we are interested in the story and this boy and maybe we want to know more details so we can prevent it in the future. If you have more details, please share since you probably have more info obviously than us since you live there.

And by making an assumption about others on here does nothing but contradict yourself as you're assuming you know how everyone actually is on here.

Once again, our prayers are with your community.

There are no "accidental deaths" in this world. People are killed by someone or something (something that us- people have created).
