GameStop May Be Selling World at War a Day Early

The gaming retail store, GameStop, may have Call of Duty: World at War going on sale nearly a day ahead of its intended release. One staff member at Planet Xbox 360 heard directly from a manager of one such store that they'll have the game out at 5:00PM on November 10.
I just got confirmation from my friend who is a manager at the beloved video game retail chain, GameStop, that they will be putting Call of Duty: World at War on sale at 5:00 p.m. (local time) the 10th of November; that's one day early. This is great news for all of those COD fans that want to get their zombie shooting action on early. From what his thoughts were this was an exclusive deal between Activision and GameStop but only time will tell. Either way this is 100%, make sure you're at your local GameStop at 4:59 p.m. on Monday the 10th of November to pick up Call of Duty: World at War.
Now, that certainly doesn't mean that all GameStops will have the game out early. However, if you're someone who doesn't mind living on the edge, you can always try your local store on the 10th to see if you can snag an early copy.

I love how "a friend of mine told me..." rumours are being posted as news now.

A number of people called their local GS store managers to ask about the PC Beta codes vs pre-orders over the last week, and got different answers from each one - key will be emailed, key isn't needed, there is no PC Beta, etc, etc. This might end up being true, but a lot of game store managers are also complete idiots. If a random forum member said this, it would be ignored. But because some doof at planetxbox has a friend who said it, it gets posted as news and given legitimacy.

EDIT: lol...news is spreading like wildfire (shocking) and being put up on even more sites, too. Ah, I love this silly-a$$ world we live in.

I usually get games the day before release anyway... preorder with first class from Gameplay.com and they've always sent the game out on wednesday, arrived in the morning on thursday but 'actual release' being friday... I also knew some of the people at GAME so if I wasn't ordering a game off Gameplay, I would go in and they'd have all the copies of that game, so they'd sell it just before they close the store (when they have to start putting all the copies on the shelves)

It's not a rumor if that particular GS is actually selling the game a day early.

That's not to say that every GS will do the same, as mentioned.

So is it being sold a month and a day early on October 10th, or one day early on November 10th? :p

The thing is, if Gamestop has any marketing agreements with Activision (and given their pre-order specials, it's likely), then they'd be breaking those agreements by selling early. If this particular store was planning to do it, and kept it quiet, then they'd probably get away with it. But now, with these guys shooting their proverbial mouths off about it, if it happens, Activision is likely to find out and not be happy about it.
