theminks thanks i agree with you and alex .... you are lying To yourself and pretending you know more but you dont...

i bet you next bf is console crap again or multiplatform crap... i know im pesimist.... but if you are optimistic the only thing you get is dissapointment...

see, ea destroyed all oldschool classic games like nfs and battlefield is next

(sorry for mistakes wrote it on iphone)

        Tactical shooter, haha

DICE have infact announced that "the hardcore PC gamers won't be disappointed". They are working on a BF3 most likely, they just haven't gotten far enough to announce it to the public.

This forum must have the most impatient people ever.

          until then,

it looks like they are going to be busy makeing a few console games before they even start bf3, if they do...
all hearsay is bull$**** so stop talking unless you have some official dice/EA posts links or something!!!

I came from playing Battlefield on the PC but now that’s not my area. I think that people should just be patient. Like it’s been mentioned by several of the senior guys over at DICE is that we haven’t forgot the hardcore PC gamer. So, don’t worry.

To the hardcore guys - Patience. That’s all I can say.
Said by Gordon van Dyke, Associate Producer at DICE

I haven't been able to find the first article about it though, I'll keep looking

there is no BF3, that’s just a rumor
Also says no BF3. I just hope they aren't doing something like they are planning for Japan... the all online thing like Heroes.

Firstly, games take years to make. They will have started shooting BF3 ideas about after the release of BF2. Huge games like that can take over 5 years to fully develop and remember, it's not just the game that requires creating. Things like logistics, marketing, web sites etc... take a while to make and add to the time development takes.

Secondly, they probably don't want to announce "BF3". When they do that, it means they are completely committed to a release and they then are pressed by deadlines. They probably do not feel they are in a position to announce the game as they probably wouldn't be able to meet the deadlines.

For a game almost 3 years old, 1000 active servers is fairly good.

Heck even 1942 has a bunch of full 64 player servers up. If you include mods, even more.

Come on man, have you ever played Battlefield? It was never a 'tactical' shooter. Games like Operation Flashpoint 2, Armed Assault 2, and even the Project Reality mod are "tactical shooters". Look at the BF series... Magical UAV's that can see underground, soldiers that can jump 3ft in the air carrying an unlimited ammo supply and a SAW machine gun, artillery that aims itself, guns that take 8 rounds to kill somone, and I could go on.

BF was never focused on tactics, realism or anything other than an arcade style shooter.

BF2 still sets itself apart from other "arcade style" shooters like Quake or UT, where your prime objective is to jump around like a coke-snorting rabbit in hopes of inducing enough lag to dodge your opponents' shots. BF2 is a bit slower paced than that, and that's why I like it.

Look, dont take this the wrong way, PC gaming is total win, and it is way better than console games, but isnt what youre saying a little selfish? come on, i have an xbox 360 but i use pc for multiplayer. I may not be that old but we should let HC console gamers have their own battlefield game, let them experience the awesomeness and replayability of a series we (and i mean older gamers, i only started playing battlefield a year ago) have been playing scince 2002. give others a chance, dice havent given up on us, EA maybe, but we should be patient. in time alex said we should get what we have been waiting for
