Delay for LittleBigPlanet due to Qur'an Reference

UPDATE: The new release date is now set for the week of October 27 for North America. The November 14 release date was speculation on the part of retailers. This means that the game is only to be delayed by less than a week. This is according to an official notice on the PlayStation Blog.

Original: A global delay is now in order for LittleBigPlanet after two expressions found in the Qur'an appeared as lyrics in one of the background songs of the title. The Qur'an is the central religious text of Islam.

"During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur'an," Sony said in a short statement.

"We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologize for any offence that this may have caused."

These passages were first brought to light in a PlayStation.com forum posting. The passages were found within the first 30 seconds of the Swingin Safari level.

The passages, when translated, say "Every soul shall have the taste of death" and "All that is on earth will perish."

The delay has pushed the release of LittleBigPlanet to November 14 instead of its originally planned October 24 release date.

It's ridiculous, that song has been out for a couple of years.....

I hope that you read my message clearly , this message created by many muslims gamer ,We Muslims consider the mixing of music and words from our Holy Quran deeply offending ,we do not have any problem if we read our holy book front of all , our relegions tell us we must allow our holy book to reach all people in the world. and if you want a Translated copy of our holy book ill send you one . this is our culture to respect our holy book by not reading it beside songs and music , we hope to find a good respect an understanding for our culture and relegion .

Yep that's correct, i read through that forum thread, the post from Solid_08 is completely true.

I know it must be disturbing for players, even for myself being a Muslim gamer, i want that game badly, but what was done there had to be rectified, or could face anger from millions of Muslims around the world.
