A number of interesting new World of Warcraft features were mentioned during a panel discussion yesterday at BlizzCon 2008. The focus was primarily on patches and updates coming after the release of the expansion, Wrath of the Lich King.
It was stated that ground mounts will all learn the ability to swim in an upcoming patch. As it stands, players lose their mounts in any water deeper than a few feet.
Also of note is that the popular Warcraft character, Deathwing, will show up in a future patch.
Finally, the panel disclosed that while trying to get the Pandaren race to work with the game, they ran into some cultural issues with players in China. The Pandaren race was a race that closely resembled the appearance of real-life Pandas and was omitted to ensure that nobody was offended.
