What I don't like is how they're dumbing down the game something incredibly with these perks. This game will not appeal that much to hardcore fans of CoD 1/2, unless there's some sort of PAM or promod being released shortly after.

Of course, the noobs need a place to play as well. :p

I can already picture a lot of players using this setup *if this is a confirmed list of perks*:
      Perk 1: Flamethrower
      Perk 2: Juggernaut
      Perk 3: Fireproof
I'm guessing Firerpoof makes you less vulnerable to flame damage...

People want customization in their characters. Different looks, different weapons, different kits (Perks).

Look at the progression of kits in Battlefield over the gaming years. You went from having a few classes to having a few classes with a few different choices in guns to having a few classes with different guns and equipment. Soon you will have skin choices as well (BF:H).

People want choice and this may be a surprise to most, but when you sell upteen million copies, thats the vote for job well done.

So you use a sniper rifle with stopping power and snipe their heads off at a distance where the flame thrower cant reach. Better yet, get in a tank and see if they can flame that.

I'm all for customisation. But the perks are the wrong way imo, if I play a game I want it to be equal for everyone in basic player capabilities.

I think BF got it right pretty much. Right, some people get grenade launchers, some can heal people, some have C4. I don't mind that. But when some people do more damage with their weapons, resist nade damage better or resets the timer on my perfectly cooked nade... It just breaks the game for me.

CoD is more and more taking form as a deathmatch game, with player abilities that break competitive play. I don't like it, but I'm sure many do.

Hopefully it will be like in RL where they used to shoot the tank on the back of flamethrower and...yeah, fireball. Horrible in RL, but for use in the game, it would be nice, although no one may want to use a flamethrower if that's true lol. The life of a soldier with a flamethrower was not a long one.

A lot of people played CTF in CoDUO and some went to CoD2, but that was huge for competitive play. SD is not the only competitive gametype. Some may consider it the 'l33t' competitive game type, but it's not for everyone. The other gametypes are on ladders and such also. I was CAL-M for CTF in CoDUO. They only had CAL-M and CAL-O b/c they said there weren't enough teams to be CAL-I which was a lie b/c there were plenty of teams.

Mods are implemented for a reason and usually help competitive leagues get gameplay how they want it.

Sounds like the revive player perk could be halfway to a zombie mod.

I don't think that will be an issue. If your nade is cooked fairly well, it will go off either in the air near the target, or very shortly after hitting the ground, not giving the oppt player time to pick it up.

The "Toss Back" perk's ability to reset the fuse on the nade will more likely have impact with a) Martyrdom nades (which many feel "seem" to have a shorter fuse than regular nades, thus often blowing up in your hand if you even manage to pick them up), and b) the blind "nade spam" we often see with more inexperienced players who throw them uncooked, without having a target in mind, hoping for a cheap kill.

I don't think Toss Back will act as if any nade in your vicinity is automatically disabled...I think you'll have to get over to the nade and actually pick it up for that perk to kick in. If that's true, cooked nades will be just as deadly as they have been in the past.

I'm slightly past inexperienced and I still do this. Granted, I launch them where I know a bunch of players are, but I don't have a specific guy I'm going for. In maps that are small like CoD's, and you have too many people on them, you easily get 2-4 kills with a nade spam. Granted, I don't get all my points that way, but it's a boost to my score when I do it after respawning. Obviously, this is only for pub play, not matches/scrims, etc.
