Manchester United vs Real Madrid FIFA 09 Ad

EA Sports has a new ad that was shown on the 21st of September on Sky Sports 1 during the first half of the Chelsea Vs Man United game. Take a look:
You can see Wayne Rooney and Manchester United against Gonzalo Higuaín and Real Madrid with the Manchester United team made up of Wayne Rooney and 9 of the best football gamers in the world.

not me, just copied and pasted.

Im thinking about getting a soccer game, I played the FIFA 09 demo and love it already, I will try the PES09 when the demo is released.

But why do you like PES over FIFA? (And don't say because its Konami and not EA who made it)

PES is a bit more 'arcade' like, you can pick up and play it and score easily... whereas FIFA is more of the 'realistic' slower version, it's harder to score in it...

Though I am a PES Fan, I don't mind FIFA 09 at all, especially since you can just use the 'alternate' controls which = the PES controls... and you can also just make up your own control config though don't think I'd ever do that...

What I like alot about the new FIFA (and all the new updated EA Sports games) is that you can just play in the "arena" mode, even during loading screen too, though it would be nice if you could customise the arena a bit, by being able to practice corners, or dribbling around other players or something... (though I guess there is a practice mode anyway)

I have played demos of FIFA 08, and demos of world cup 08, I own world cup 06 and VR soccer 96 and i find FIFA 09 to be the 1st time I can actually score easily and have fun playing.

                WHAT??????????

Are you actually kidding me? I think you're confused. Fifa is the arcade style game, with only a small number script style results.

PES is almost random. You can take a shot from the half way line, it can hit the bar, hit the back of the head of the keeper and go in. In fact, i had one goal where the ball looked as if it was going out but span back into the goal when it bounced. The keeper tried to dive for it, but missed.

PES is just more fun to play with mates.

I wonder how much Sony had to pay to get the PS3 as the console of use, and I wonder how much Rooney was paid too :p

Although that did seem pretty cool :)

He's right. Pro Evo is hard, really hard. Specially the new 2008, which I regret buying because it can get really hard for me (not the soccer kind of guy, basketball ftw!). But my experience in FIFA and Pro Evo are vastly different. FIFA has a very rigid game experience, you either take shots dead on (like 5 feet from the goal), or from the 'D'. Otherwise, most other shots will be saved.

Pro Evo, has it's variables and different styles of play. What's annoying is, the game seems to understand how you play. I don't know if others feel this, but playing the game gets harder, rather than getting easier as you get used to it.

I swear to god the game is learning from me.

Ok going from my standpoint of a soccer game noob what should I get.

The only soccer games I have are Euro Cup 06 which I played once (someone bought it for me for like 80 cents), and I have VR Soccer 96 which I havent played in years. So they don't count. I want to get a new soccer game so far FIFA is my choice but I want to give PES a chance so based off of "soccer gaming noobishism" what should I pick based off of your thoughts?

Sony(PS3) is bigger in Europe then Microsoft(360) so thats the obvious reason. Just like how when they show NFL or NCAA playing football its on the 360 here.

PES if you want an authentic soccer game experience.
FIFA if you want to play for the sake of it.

PES is more fun with friends as well. Obviously, you pretty much have to have an analogue game controller for the experience.

...and you have to learn the offside rule...
