A keen eye at the Japanese patent office discovered that a new patent was filed just the other day by Konami. Metal Gear Solid Existence is the latest MGS game to have a name patented.
This name was also patented on August 11 at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. As a source of comparison, Metal Gear Solid 4 also had a separate trademark for Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriots.
Wild speculation is already surrounding the meaning of the title. Some believe it's for a new prequel to the MGS series and focuses on Big Boss as the main character. Still others feel as though it will be the name of an extended "directors cut" version of Metal Gear Solid 4, just as the case was with MGS3: Subsistence and MGS2: Substance.
