Recommended System Requirements Revealed for GTAIV

The recommended requirements for the PC release of Grand Theft Auto IV have appeared on the official Games for Windows website.

Does your computer make the grade?

OS: Windows XP SP2
Processor: Dual core processor (Intel Pentium D or better)
RAM: 2GB
Hard Drive: 18GB free hard disk space
Video Card: 512MB Direct3D 10 compatible video card or Direct3D 9 card compatible with Shader
Drive: DVD-ROM dual-layer drive

Keep in mind that these are the recommended requirements. Also keep in mind that Rockstar did not release these specs first hand. We'll have further details, as they are revealed, on the minimum requirements needed in order to experience GTAIV on the PC.

Dang, that is a lot of HDD space. Other than that, requirements look pretty decent.

So no Vista support then, that's a let down, although it will more than likely work anyway.

I'm sure Vista owners won't have anything to worry about. These probably aren't the full/final requirements. And as Vista is the newest OS from MS, I doubt it wouldn't be supported.

XP is the recommended OS, they dont say that you cant play it on vista lal

I thought if they got the Games for Windows badge then it should support Vista?

What's stated there is the minimum requirements. XP is a minimum, Vista an ideal.

The games for Windows logo means:

1. Vista compatible
2. Appears in the Windows Games browser menu
3. Has one click installs
