GTA Sells 10 Million, Take-Two Reaches Record Sales

Grand Theft Auto IV has sold over 10 million units since its release back in April. The sales of GTA account for nearly 60% of the record breaking $433.8 million in sales for the third fiscal quarter.

The company earned $51.8 million in profits this quarter, compared to a loss of $58.5 million last year during the same period. Beyond the strong showing of GTA IV, the company also cites strong sales of Top Spin 3 and Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution as the key to their success.

CEO, Ben Feder, had the following to say on the state of the company.
"To be clear, the company is debt-free.

We're delivering on our pledge to make Take-Two the most creative, most innovative and most efficient company in the industry, and we look forward to further accomplishment in the future."

On the topic of EA, Feder said that they're "pursuing the path that will create the greatest possible value for our stockholders."

There are plans to have a big PR campaign for GTA IV for the Holiday season, hoping that the increase in hardware sales will spur further GTA IV sales. Take-Two will have also released the new Midnight Club: Los Angeles for the Holiday season. Midnight Club is currently on track for a late October release.
