Blockbuster, Riteaid, and 7-Eleven to Sell PSN Cards

Adding to the growing list of retailers selling, or about to sell, the PlayStation Network cards are Blockbuster, Riteaid, and 7-Eleven.

It's been reported that all of these retailers will start to sell these cards come September. These cards will allow users without credit cards to purchase games, videos, and game add-ons through the PSN.

From what was last heard, some (if not all) GameStop retail stores are unable to sell the cards at this time due to an issue with their computer system.

I'll be picking one of these up at Blockbuster when they are out just in time for Red Barron Arcade

I'm confused, debit cards work fine on PSN (for UK anyway) - although this PSN Card is a good idea, and allows those who have cash to easily purchase DLC via this way...

Despite how popular debit and credit cards are, there are still tons of people without them, or that are too young to use them. So any alternative means of buying is a win-win for the game developers and store owners.

Just wondering how do the store owners profit from this? I'm guessing to purchase a PSN Card costs say $5 or $10 ? where 80% of that goes to the store? (sorta thing) - since it wouldn't be too good if you bought a card and put $20 on it to buy a game, only to be taxed or only to have $18 for the PSN Store... though I guess Sony probably has the PSN Cards linked up to the Store so any purchases on a PSN Card will go to the store/company and Sony - so in theory Sony will get a little less profit, but would have a wider audience

This is also something that people can buy as gifts for people with ps3's so I think this is good they should have been out on day 1!
