    Rumor: More Xbox 360 Price Cuts in September

    Shacknews is reporting that we may be seeing more price cuts for the Xbox 360 in the near future. Take a look:
    Microsoft is preparing to slash prices on all existing models of the Xbox 360 hardware, going by the latest rumor out of Ars Technica.

    The site claims the information came from the same source that provided early details on last month's pseudo price cut, which saw Microsoft debut an Xbox 360 model with a 60GB HDD for $380, while the remaining supply of 20GB units were reduced to $300.

    The rumored priced cuts, along with the curren hardware prices, follow:

    * Xbox 360 Arcade (No Hard Drive): $199, down from $279
    * Xbox 360 Pro (60GB HDD): $299, down from $350
    * Xbox 360 Elite (120GB HDD): $399, down from $449
    Stay tuned for more info on this rumor.

    Update: VGChartz.com was the first to get their hands on an image that pushes this rumor into the realm of fact.

      Hopefully this price cut also signals that the rumoured new "Jasper" 360's will actually be hitting shelves by Sept as well.

        Can you explain to us what a "Jasper" 360 is?

          The Xbox 360 has already undergone a handful of hardware revisions, first with the HDMI-enabled "Zephyr" motherboard that debuted with the Xbox 360 Elite (and has since found its way into standard Xbox 360s as well). Earlier this year, Takahashi also reported on "Falcon" 360 motherboards that sport cooler-running 65-nanometer CPUs under the hood, which reduces the risk of the console's now-infamous hardware failures.
          Takahashi said that for "Jasper," Microsoft is giving the system a matching 65nm graphics chip and smaller memory chips. Like the 65nm CPU, the 65nm GPU will be smaller, cooler, more energy efficient, and be cheaper to produce than the 90nm chip used in previous Xbox 360 revisions. Takahashi said it is currently scheduled to roll out in new systems starting in August 2008.

            Sold my XB360 Core for like £35 (about $70), probably the most stupidest thing i've ever done though i knew prices were going to drop again so wanted to get rid of it as soon as poss to at least make a bit money from something i weren't going to use.
