Oh god. Not this illogical and pointless discussion again... Women are not on the front line for a reason, do you're research. Or if you're a guy use your common sense.

On the other hand you could stand there like an ignorant b*****d and point your finger at me shouting "sexist".

        Off-T, o/ Mullet.

My take on females for MP in the game? Not needed.

It's not necessary, makes no significant difference, unless they start to change things because you are male "you are better at assault rifles" and because you are female you are "better with sniper rifles" etc.

It's pointless and yields no result.

we want to be as authentic as possible, but lets include airstrikes on boats and on friendlies, that doesn't take away from realism...

Whiskey must not have seen the latest posts b/c as he always says on a topic like this "As soon as you respawn in a game, realism is out the door."

Everyone has they're diff view of realism. Just like how you watch a movie and can believe the flying machines, aliens, laser blasters, weird creatures, etc, but then a guy a shoots a piece of paper into a wastebasket from across the room over people's heads and you say, "That's so unrealistic, you could never get a paper ball to go that far." lol I do it too, but most people do it all the time and do not realize it.

Hmm, you might be confusing me with someone else...I've seen that comment above made quite a bit when it comes to realism, but it's not my position.

While it is technically true, if you take away respawns then you alienate a large percentage of players (especially those who like a fast-paced game, or who have a limited time to play each night and want to maximize it).

My general view has been that if a game is based on a "real world" setting then developers should strive to make it as authentic as possible, but without getting hung up on details that are too minor which would ruin the fun-factor for many players (unless it's a game specifically designed to be closer to a sim, like Operation Flashpoint).

Putting female characters into a game's MP isn't absolutely necessary, nor will it affect sales to any large degree, but it will allow some people (eg. female players) to enjoy the game more without negatively affecting others, so I think it's a good thing if a developer wants to do it.
