It's always good to be cautious, but COD:WW's situation is quite different from Airborne and FFoW (not sure about RSV2)...it's being built upon existing, proven technology (COD4's engine) with many of the same design elements of COD4 as well. I don't think that I read one negative review from the recent event, even by those who were skeptical of Treyarch, and who were disappointed by Airborne.

Anything can happen between now and release, of course, but unless someone just doesn't like the WWII setting itself, COD:WW seems like a very safe bet. I don't do pre-orders, but I'll be picking it up in stores on Day 1.

Incorrect. There are drive-able vehicles in COD:WW's multi-player. It's written in nearly every review.

As for "$50 for the same game" comment...COD:WW shares the engine, some animations, and some of the ideas of MP (ie. perks), but the SP story will be entirely different, the inclusion of vehicles will drastically change the MP gameplay (also because the maps will have to be larger to accomodate vehicles), and WWII weapons will also change some of the spammy-ness and camping-from-a-mile-away that plagues COD4's MP. Actually, with some of the changes mentioned, I think it may actually have a chance to have a better balanced MP than COD4.

Amen to that Whiskey, I completely agree and you're right. It will be a different experience altogether from what COD4 was and so like any other game, people will have to pay.

It's going to be some features from DOD (swimming), with a bit of RTCW:ET (flamethrower), mixed with CoD:UO (vehicles), thrown together on the CoD4 engine (wallbang) with the intense feel you get from watching 24 season 1 (jack bauer's voice is that good)... what more do you want? I think for $50, it should be worth it, and I'm sure Treyarch will do a better job then IW have with there Community Manager, simply because JD has been with the CoD community since day 1, he's also a PC gamer where 402 is more of a console guy...

Exactly right. JD is very dedicated to making this game the best it can be and I put my faith in him for making that happen. Not only is he a PC gamer at heart to, since Treyarch didn't get the chance to make COD3 for PC, they are all very excited and dedicated to COD:WW on PC now. So that is good news for all of us. :)
