And Desert Storm would be different from CoD4 how? That would be pretty much identical. Not sp, but who cares about sp. Sp lasts for 5 hours, and mp can make the game last as long as people still keep playing it.

I think it would have been cooler if they stayed away from the World War 2 genre and did something like World War 1 or Vietnam, just to make things more interesting since the WW2 age in video games is really starting to dry out as a result of so many games based on that period in history. However my prefered genre would have been the Korean War or Desert Storm since there have been no games on the Korean war, and only very few on Desert Storm. That is just my opinion.

If they're including vehicles, then hopefully we'll get United Offensive size maps.

The very last Vietnam shooter I liked was BF:Vietnam. And that came out over 4 years ago. I'd like to see an updated Vietnam shooter. Conflict Vietnam, The Hell in Vietnam, and others just seemed last generation.

But that said it doesn't matter, I'll prolly get this new CoD too.

Ya WWI would be really cool. I don't know why no one has come out with one yet. Rushing the German trenches, early machine guns, horses, sabres.
Now THAT would be cool! It could be called COD: The Great War

Waiting in a trench for a whistle then charging into MG cross-fire, doesn't sound too fun to me.

Why Cant we have a Vietnam one man! I want to hear the choppers rumble and the smell of nap bomb in the air! WW2 games are boring now, there is too many of them like X Play said: 5000 WW2 games!
I believe it's napalm not nap bomb... but I agree a Vietnam game would be so much better. Also, no one ever talks about Korea... they should make a game about that as well

Yes, I must say I really did enjoy those maps.

If it's in the Pacific during WWII, then it would be easy to make a Vietnam mod as there should already be plenty of brush/trees/etc. that fit the area. All that would be needed, for the most part, is weapon models (M16, M14, AK47, etc).

Pacific theater at least changes things up a bit, but I was hoping for more in the "modern" time frame.

Call of duty already did vehicles (although it needs to add them) in UO, which has always been my favorite of the COD series.

Man this is looking pretty sweet, and I'm glad it's made using the same technology as Call of Duty 4, even though World at War won't be by Infinity Ward.

Call of Duty 4 was the first game in the COD series that I actually bought, and it was great as I'm sure that everyone will agree to. So even though WWII is all the COD series seems to care about, this game will still be awsome, simply because all COD games are good.

Espicially now that it shows a new side of WWII because the story follows the Pacific campaign which is hardly remembered. Speaking of which, all of you should watch The Great Raid, it is probably one of my favorite movies ever and it follows the story of the Pacific Campaign during World War II. :)

I almost wish that they would do the Vietnam War, Korean War, and hopefully other Modern War games to follow up the success of COD4. I do hope COD5 game is as good as it is being hyped up to be with Coop mode and vehicles, as well as the new scary enemies with advanced AI and very gritty realistic warlike chaos with a gripping story to it... I hope it comes out sometime this year!

                                Guys,

This latest release will be out this year.

I bet it will be marketed and released around the same time as the new Band of Brothers TV series is released, which is also based on the Pacific Theatre of Operations called "The Pacific"

Whilst it says 2009, it is possible it is early 2009.

I hope this COD 5 has a Guadalcanal section , I would really like to defend the airfield against a Japanese invasion. The Marines on the island did a really heroic job of defending the island !!
