Call of Duty 4 v1.6 Patch Released

Although earlier than expected, the v1.6 patch for Call of Duty 4 has now been released to the public. Here are the new additions/changes in this latest patch:

• New maps Creek, Chinatown, Broadcast, and Killhouse
• Hardcore and oldschool server browser filters
• Fix for a Denial of Service attack
• Includes all the changes up to patch 1.5

Is this an official release, though? It hasn't been posted on the IW forums by fourzerotwo, and there's no official changelist... I'm probably going to wait... plus many servers won't be upgraded yet.

Also, for any players in the official CoD4 Tournament, Battle for Europe, that are looking at this, BFE will stay on 1.5 for the battle today, and upgrade for Saturday.

Anyone who wants to download this, can you confirm it?

I have downloaded and installed this myself, and there is a readme included which you can access through the Start Menu. This was due to release tontie to Nvidia SLI club members only, but the link got shared.

There are about 14 servers up right now as of this timestamp...from the pings, most of them are probably Europe (makes sense). Reset your filters if you can't see them.

Version number at the bottom of your screen should now read "1.6.565".

And HOORAY for the HC/SC/OS filter!

whisky can i use this install to update the server i admin or do i have to wait for a different version ??

Valve had better hurry up and put this on our Steam versions of COD4. xD

I'm not a server expert, but I think you either have to patch your game then upload the entire thing to your server all over again, or you have to wait for someone to separate just the changed files (which will probably be available by tomorrow if past patches are any indication).

ps. Broadcast and Creek are fairly big...should make some people quite happy. I like what they've done with Chinatown (Carentan) too...lights look really cool reflecting off of the wet roads. Killhouse is small, as we knew, but I don't think you can put a nade from one end to the other (thankfully)...could be good for small games.

I'm not a server expert, but I think you either have to patch your game then upload the entire thing to your server all over again, or you have to wait for someone to separate just the changed files (which will probably be available by tomorrow if past patches are any indication).

well i didnt know if i was able to install the patch though FTP or i have to send the patch over to the server then open the patch exe while its in the server directory.

im screwing with a few things now.

I really dont want to send it to the server with FTP with my internet it will take over an hour for it to get it (my upload speed sucks)



as for the maps IM DIEING TO PLAY THEM. but heres the bummer. i have cod4 over STEAM ............................ :wall::cussing::super pissed:

but im to impatient so what i did was made a folder in C/program files/activision/ so on so when i open the installer it will think that i didn't get the game though steam. the only problem with this is that i will basiclly have the game installed 2 times on the computer but **** ill still be able to use 1.5 at the same time as 1.6. for the time being (till i get the server i admin patched)

Steam has been pretty good lately with their patches/updates, so you should see it in a day or two I'd think.

damn it. im so damn close of having it now
i have the damn patch. maybe if i explore the installer i can just manually add the files myself :)

Do you own the server or rent it from a GSP? MyInternetServices.com COD4 servers will be ready to patch within the next two - four hours. :)

Nope, they will need to patch it or allow you to patch it some way - for all clients of MyInternetServices.com the patch just went live in our system, check your emails on how to patch. :)
